We love Fried Green Tomatoes. Even the kids like them. My husband always comes home with a very large bagfull, when he finds them at the grocery store. He also picks them in the garden. I have to watch him, or he’d pick them all, and we wouldn’t get any ripe tomatoes. lol
Fried Green Tomatoes
3 green tomatoes
1/3 cup of milk
1/2 cup flour
2 beaten eggs
3/4 cup bread crumbs
cooking oil
Salt and Pepper to taste
Cut the tomatoes into 1/2 inch slices. Add salt and pepper to flour. Dip tomatoes into milk, then into the flour. Then dip the tomatoes into the beaten eggs, then finally the bread crumbs. I line up the bowls in an assembly line, ending with the pan where I fry the slices a few at a time in hot oil over medium heat, 7-8 minutes on each side, until brown. Add more oil as needed. I drain them on paper towels before serving.
