Making a Home

I saw this post last week, Preserving Watermelon, and we decided to try it. I cut it thick and dehydrated it for about 12 hours at 125. Dehydrated watermelon has a very strong watermelon taste. We din’t think it tasted like cotton candy like the article said. I thought it tasted more like a Jolly Rancher.

Would we do it again? Probably not. Only because my family loves watermelon, and rarely leaves any for me to use in recipes. They all said they prefer their watermelon plain. If we were given a lot of watermelon, however, I would do it again.
