Making a Home

We dehydrated more tomatoes this week. 3 racks full. These are from our garden. No, we don’t  have any plants left outside, we harvested these when they were green. They have ripened in the house.

My husband found this at a local thrift store. He didn’t know what it was, but thought it had something to do with sewing and that we could use it. I’ve never seen one of these before, either. Do you know what it is?

It’s a skirt marker. You set it at the length you want, then move it around the skirt and pin it up. Hannah and I are looking forward to using it.

What did you do last week to make your house a home?

  1. I don’t know that I had ever seen one of those skirt markers, though my mama was a home ec teacher, but a few months ago, a frien’s mom gave me one. I have not had occasion to use it yet. – skirts we’ve made have had easy hems-but I’d like to try it sometime.

  2. Your hubby did good! I haven’t seen a hem marker like that in years, but I could use one. I don’t make my own clothes as much as I used to, but I am short so often have to shorten a skirt at least a little. Enjoy using it. I’m enjoying looking around your site.
