I spent extra time in the kitchen this week stocking the freezer and trying a new recipe.
I tried this recipe for Homemade Rice Milk. I like it much better than the first recipe I tried for homemade rice milk. It is thick and creamy. I actually have to thin it with water more for drinking.
The recipe made a lot. All the milk above, a 2 quart pitcher, a large peanut butter jar and a store bought spaghetti sauce jar.
This week, when BBQ chicken was on the menu, I made a quadruple recipe of my homemade BBQ sauce. I used what we needed for supper, and put all these jars in the freezer.
When we had pizza last week, I made extra pizza sauce and put 3 pint jars in the freezer.
Last night, when I made spaghetti sauce for supper, I made extra and put 2 quart jars 2 half pints in the freezer. The half pints will be the perfect size for me when I make myself gluten free pasta when the family is having a meal I can’t eat.
I love having all these meal helpers in the freezer ready to go. 🙂
