In A Christmas Gift for Rose, Rose is trying to come to terms with the fact that her beau, Jonathon, has left the Amish to fight in the war. Something that is very unusual for an Amish man. Everyone in the community looks at Rose differently now.
She is surprised when she gets word that he is home from the war and hasn’t come to see her yet. She doesn’t have time to deal with all her emotions, though. Her mother comes to her and tells her that she came to live with the family when she was young. After hearing the full story, Rose is shocked to her core when she realizes she’s not Amish by birth.
Rose has such a hard time dealing with finding out the truth about herself, that when Jonathon finds out, he tries to find a way to help her. Between his help and what she is able to find out on her own, Rose is able to come to terms with her history and realizes she is a part of two families now.
A Christmas Gift for Rose is a very heart warming story about faith, family, and love for any time of year.
