This week, my baby turned 14! As of right now, my kids are 28, 26, 19, 16, 15, and 14. Yes, I’m old. lol anyway, back to the birthday boy. Poor Zach. He ended up at the doctor’s office on his birthday due to a tick bite he got at church camp the week before. I have a picture, but I will spare you the horrors of that picture. lol He is on antibiotics for 2 weeks. He had to go to the doctors for a recheck on Friday, and it has improved greatly. He’s not nearly as sick in the picture as he is pretending to be. lol
He was sitting up n the table until he saw me starting to take a picture and said wait, let me lay down. lol
All four of the teenagers had a cold this week. It was a bad summer cold. Nothing serious, just miserable. Thankfully, they are on the mend. The cold, though, meant that we had to postpone Zach’s birthday party. Poor kid. We’re going to try for a party next weekend.
On Tuesday, we had a scheduled power outage. Four sick teenagers, who are watching movies or on some sort of electronic device, were not thrilled about losing power. The 19 year old rigged up this battery pack to use on the wireless router. To me, it sure looked like he was trying to blow up my house! lol It worked, though. For about 15 minutes. lol In the future, he is going to need a stronger battery. lol
Abby got a call this week asking her to play for the offering in church on Sunday. So she has been practicing and trying to pick a song. It’s now Saturday evening, and she still hasn’t decided between 2 songs. I can’t tell if Piper, the Morkie, was relaxing and enjoying the music, or passed out from the loudness. lol Abby sure does like to play very loudly!
Poor Abby and Zach were sick the whole last week of their summer vacation. We only take off for the month of July, so missing a week is noticeable. They weren’t completely off rom school work, though, they did have a few review items they were working on. We are starting back to school on Monday. We’ll start out easy this week. So I don’t have a mutiny on my hands. lol
Be on the look out during the next week or so to see what curriculum we are using for the new school year!
