I have been in the market for a vacuum sealer, and have been researching and comparing prices. I was very pleased to receive a Ziploc® Brand Vacuum Sealer System to review. My kids thought I was a little crazy because I was so excited when I opened the box. lol
I received the vacuum sealer itself, as well as three containers, one box of quart size bags, 1 box of pint size bags, 1 roll to make bags, and 1 roll of perforated bags.
The pint and quart size bags are sealed on the bottom ready to be filled.
The rolls need to be cut to size and sealed on the bottom before using. The perforated bag roll is sealed down the middle, as you can see in the picture below, and perforated on that seal. You can fill both sides at once, seal the bag, then tear apart on the perforation as needed.
The rolls make it convenient to vacuum seal any item you want. Not just those that will fit into the pint or quart size bags. You can make bags to hold a large roast or a whole chicken. Make small bags to hold your medicine or vitamins while hiking or camping. You can even vacuum seal a change of clothes so you’ll always have dry clothes to change into while hiking or camping.
The Ziploc® Brand Vacuum Sealer System is easy to use. Simply place your items inside the bag, place the edge of the bag inside the machine following the included directions for correct placement. Close the lid, pressing on both front corners to lock the machine.
Then simply press the vacuum seal button and the machine does the rest. Vacuums the air out, seals, and when it is done, the sealer unlocks so you can remove the bag. You can also choose to just seal the bag, without removing the air. This will allow you to, for example, put a marinade in with the meat and seal it without all the marinade being vacuumed out.
I’ve been sealing everything since I received this. lol Chicken was the first thing. Quick and easy, and now in my freezer waiting to be cooked.
Then I tried sealing a supplement bottle to see just how much air was removed from the bag. That would be all of it. Plus, my son’s face was priceless when he went to take his supplement and found this. lol
I vacuumed sealed some cooked hamburger, hot chocolate packets, and pre-measured rice in the perforated bags. Now I just have to dump the rice in the pan and add the water. I tried the containers by vacuum sealing some rice in one. It was so easy to do, and these containers are perfect for marinating meat, or storing soups and stews.
My husband got a deer this weekend and we processed it ourselves. We vacuum sealed 44 pounds of meat for the freezer. The roll of bags came in handy for making our own bags for the larger roasts. The quart size bags were convenient for filling and sealing quickly. Here’s all that meat in the freezer. I love that all the meat we worked hard on, is thoroughly protected in the freezer. No freezer burn on our roasts!
As you can see, I put this Ziploc® Brand Vacuum Sealer to the test this week. I can honestly say I loved it! I loved how easy it is to use. I love the variety of bags and rolls available. I love that my food is well protected, in the freezer or in the cabinet.
Whether you hunt, grow your own animals, buy your food in bulk, or do your shopping at the grocery store weekly, I recommend the Ziploc® Brand Vacuum Sealer. If you’re a traveler, hiker, or camper, you will also find many uses for it that will save you time and money.
