In the Kitchen with Linda & Dinner Menu

April 20, 2015 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy Leave a Comment

I made something I’m calling Turmeric Chicken, for lack of a better name lol, last week. This was my first time using turmeric and I was afraid I had used too much, but it came out great, and my family ate it all.

For my Turmeric Chicken, I put potatoes and carrots in the slowcooker, and added three boneless, skinless chicken breasts. I then seasoned the chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and turmeric, then cooked until done. I will definitely be making this again!

Friday afternoon, my husband called from work saying he was getting off early and why didn’t we go ahead and do the grocer shopping. Ok, that works as it frees up several hours on Saturday. Well, since it was before supper, my husband was hungry. The cart full of snacks prompted me to post this picture on Instagram.

I will definitely try to remember NOT to take him shopping when he’s hungry! lol

As a treat, we took some of the kids out to lunch at a little, local restaurant Saturday afternoon. We all ordered burgers. I ordered mine without pickles. Guess what was on my burger when I got it?

pickles

That would be SEVEN pickles! I just removed them myself instead of sending it back. One of my daughters thought I overreacted because I complained to my family about the pickles. I didn’t even complain to the waitress. I don’t think even sending the burger back would have been overreacting.  If I don’t want pickles, I don’t want pickles. To me, 7 pickles on my burger means that the person making it said, “You don’t want pickles?! Have some pickles!!” as they throw a big handful on. lol

Sooo……do you think I overreacted to the pickles? Would you have sent it back?

Now…. to answer the question that I get asked about a hundred times a day……….What’s For Dinner?

Saturday – quick & easy- Salad, frozen pizza

Sunday – soup & sandwich day – Sandwiches for lunch, Breakfast for dinner! Oven fried potatoes, turkey bacon, eggs, toast- the guys cooked!!

Monday – chicken – Baked Chicken Breast, rice, vegetable gumbo

Tuesday – pizza/pasta – Pizza with homemade garlic crust, turkey pepperoni, onions, and peppers

Wednesday – beef – Spaghetti with meat sauce, green beans

Thursday – chicken – Turkey a la Mama over homemade biscuits – I’ve actually skipped this the last couple of weeks, that’s why it’s still on the menu!

Friday – beef – Venison, potatoes and carrots in the slow cooker

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 3:16-17 NKJV
