I bought the Not Just Tacos – A Journey Into the World of Authentic Latin American Cuisine cookbook last year as part of my quest to make more Mexican food from scratch. I’m sad to say that I haven’t actually made anything from this cookbook yet. 🙁

I bought the Not Just Tacos – A Journey Into the World of Authentic Latin American Cuisine cookbook last year as part of my quest to make more Mexican food from scratch. I’m sad to say that I haven’t actually made anything from this cookbook yet. 🙁
I reviewed this ebook, A Simpler Season last year. At the time of this posting, it is available for the Kindle for free on Amazon. You don’t have to have a Kindle to get this book. You can download the Kindle for PC app from Amazon that lets you read Kindle books on your computer.
This is a great ebook to help you plan a better Christmas for your family. I really liked it, hope you do too!

I’ve been decorating cakes for over 20 years now. I started when my oldest son turned one. I made a cake in the shape of the number one. Since then, I’ve made many, many birthday cakes. I’ve even made two wedding cakes. I made one when my brother got married, and I made my daughters cake 5 years ago when she got married.
I haven’t made any decorated cakes for a couple of years. My teens have been asking for cakes with Reese cups on them. lol When I saw that Craftsy had free cake decorating mini courses, I sign up!
Here are the 2 free Craftsy mini-courses I’m going to take:
1. The Hand-Painted Cake
2. Modern Buttercream
I think it will be so much fun to hand paint a cake! I’m excited to get started with my classes.
Check out all of the other free Craftsy mini-courses by clicking here.

I love wearing an apron. I feel very homermaker-ish when I wear my apron. I actually have a few. I even made a Christmas apron a couple of years ago.
Here’s a picture of me in my favorite apron. I made this apron in January 2007.
I love a full sized apron. Apparently I’m very messy, because I always end up with whatever I’m making all over my clothes.
FaveCrafts is offering a free e-book with 8 apron patterns. I have already downloaded my copy. 🙂
The instructions look like they will be easy to follow, with lots of pictures. There are even tips for beginners!
So if you want to make an apron for yourself or your daughter, this is a good e-book to start with. You can even make an apron from a pillow case. No need to go buy fabric, if you have a pillow case you can use.
