When I was checking out at Walmart today, the cashier told me I could only use one coupon of each kind. For example I had 4 packages of dental floss, and 4 coupons.
She told me I could only use one coupon even though I bought 4. “See, the coupon says one per purchase”
Yes, but that means one coupon per package not one per transaction. “No, we were told 1 per purchase, this comes from corporate, I can call a manager if you want.”
Nope, that’s ok, but I don’t want the rest. I put back 3 packages of dental floss, 9 things of hair mousse, and 6 body washes. I was going to go to the service desk, but my mother was waiting, and it was already 2 o’clock and the kids hadn’t eaten lunch yet. So I just left. But I knew this was wrong.
So tonight I searched and found Walmart’s coupon policy I have printed it out and plan on taking it with me next week.
I have been using coupons for over 20 years, probably close to 25 years. I have never heard of such a thing. These were not internet coupons, which have been abused a lot, but they were cut from the newspaper inserts.
so I shall be having a talk with my Walmart very soon!
