Super Savings Saturday: the $50. Edition

I mentioned earlier that I only had $50. to spend on groceries today. I didn’t need to buy any meat, as the freezer has plenty. So, here’s what I got at Krogers:

10 cans of Progresso soup (D takes these for lunch)
9 cans of Ravioli
4 bags of Fritos
1 12 pack of toilet paper
4 boxes of pizza rolls
2 cans of Manwich
1 pack American Cheese
1 Gallon of milk
1 box of Cheerios
1 box of Granola bars
1 pound of butter
2 loaves of bread on clearance
2 packs of salad
4 bunches of banana
2 tomatoes

After the Special Daytona offer (save $3. when you buy ten items), which I did twice, and coupons, my total was $37.06. My receipt said I saved 54%. I had coupons for everything I bought, except for the produce, and coupons for free boxes of Cheerios and granola bars. I also had a $3.50 off your next order catalina from the granola bar deal a couple of weeks ago.

Then it was on to Walmart:

10 cans of vienna sausages (D takes these to work)
1 romain lettuce
2 cucumbers
1 flour
1 box brown rice
1 box sandwich bags
2 packages of Kotex
1 6 pack of batteries
1 bottle of asprin
2 packages of tuna

After coupons, my total was $15.44
I had coupons for $1.00 off the kotex and the asprin that made them free. I found the asprin coupon at the doctors office. $1. off any asprin, and it worked on the Equate brand! I also had buy 1 get 1 free coupon for the tuna.

So my Grand total was $52.50! Not too bad considering that’s for D’s lunches, also! And only $2.50 over what I had wanted to spend. 🙂
