I posted some pics below of the kids erupting their volcano. I bought a kit, and they made it. They’ve had fun, and it was a good ending to our studying about them. G~, you asked how I got them to still do schoolwork, since the ps are out. Well, for the last 2 months we haven’t been doing very much bookwork. Except Mel. When the weathers nice, I think the little ones should be outside playing. Especially Calen. For 3 years, he couldn’t play like a normal little boy. Couldn’t ride his bike when his counts were low. If he fell, he could get an infection from a little scrape, if he cut himself and his platelets were low, he would bleed too much, etc. etc. Even though he took karate when he felt up to it, he was terribly out of shape. This spring he would go out to ride his bike and come in to lay on the couch saying his heart was beating to fast. We’ve had numerous conversations about how this is normal! lol Right now I feel that his playing, and acting like a little boy, is more important than bookwork! That’s what rainy days are for! lol He says he doesn’t want to read, so we’re not really loosing time, just waiting for him to be ready. Hannah is reading now, and likes to read a LOT, so she’s not missing out. Abigail likes to pretend she’s reading, but doesn’t want to work on phonics. Zachary is an outdoor boy, so often skips read aloud time to go play. I’ve solved that, by often taking our reading outside! It is more fun to read on the swings!

This morning we watched the coverage of President Reagan. I was watching it on ABC, but quickly left when the anchor called the song Amazing Grace “an American folk song”. That really irked me!

It’s really quiet here, as the 4 little ones are across the street at my mothers playing with 2 of their cousins. They were all here for an hour or so then they asked to go over to Granny’s. Like I’m gonna say no?! lol

D called, and he’s going to be a little late, he’s painting a car. We’re having burgers on the grill. While I’m waiting to start those, I think I’m going to go scrap. Even though there’s a load of laundry in the dryer waiting to be folded! It’s so quiet I can hear my scrap desk calling me!
