Americans With No Address Review

January 21, 2025 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

This new documentary, Americans With No Address, investigates the homeless crisis in America and captures the untold stories of those experiencing homelessness while at the same time trying to find answers to the problem.

Americans With No Address

“This Documentary came about first to ensure the accuracy of the “No Address” feature film. Our production team toured the country for several weeks, visiting and filming interviews in 20 major cities across 18 states facing various rates of homelessness and interviewed over 175 people. Those interviews inspired the documentary “Americans With No Address,” which captures the essence of what is causing the homeless crisis and portrays what solutions have been implemented and proven to show positive changes.”

“In the making of this documentary, the team witnessed firsthand the unbreakable spirit that thrives in the face of adversity. It deepened our understanding of homelessness and its complexities.”

“The Americans With No Address team is on a mission to raise awareness and offer solutions to homelessness in America. Through a comprehensive five-production approach, including the documentary “Americans With No Address” and the feature film “No Address,” which will be coming to theaters nationwide on February 28th, we aim to break the cycle of homelessness. These two films are part of a broader effort to build empathy and compassion for those experiencing homelessness. In addition to these powerful films, we have the novelization of the award-winning screenplay, a soundtrack, and an interactive study guide that guides people who want to be part of the solution in their own community.”

Americans With No Address Review

Americans With No Address shows real Americans that are homeless, and tells their story. In showing their stories, we see some of the problems that governments make in dealing with the homelessness crisis.

For example, I was shocked to see what is happening in San Francisco. The city is paying for “safe” places for people to do drugs. A fenced in area where the homeless can go and be furnished needles, foil, & straws for use with illegal drugs. Supervised consumption sites. Right there behind a temporary fence, on the city streets.

Currently it is easy to get high, and hard to get treatment.

It should be hard to get high, and easy to get treatment.

Robert G. Marbut, Jr.

The homelessness problem in this country is heartbreaking. This year more than one third of Americans will have a family member or friend experience homelessness. I have family members, and others that I know, that have experienced homelessness. Truly heartbreaking. Due to circumstances, ours and theirs, we may not be able to help meet their needs. I find it surprising that the largest growing segment of homelessness is those over 50.

We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked and homeless. the poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty.

Mother Teresa

I love that this documentary shows several non-profits and organizations across the country that are providing resources and services to those experiencing homelessness with proven successful outcomes. Helping them get their paperwork again, i.e. birth certificates and drivers licenses, physical & mental health care, help getting a job, etc. This is what we need more of.

How Can You Help?

Firstly, watch this documentary. I highly recommend it! Then connect with one of the these organizations in your area. Most importantly, since the homeless often feel invisible, one interaction can can make a world if difference. Also, we need to make sure we are seeing the human side of the homeless.

Between Borders Movie Review

January 16, 2025 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

Between Borders – In a crumbling Soviet Union, the Petrosyan family finds themselves as outcasts—wherever they go. Their Armenian heritage marks them for discrimination, first in their home country of Azerbaijan and then in Russia. After finding their eternal hope through a church planted by American missionaries, the hostility of everyday life pushes them to seek refuge in the United States. In the shadow of exile, hope became their home. Based on a riveting true story of faith and hope set amidst great oppression,

Between Borders - based on a true story of faith & hope set amidst great oppression. Check out my Movie Review #BetweenBordersMIN #MomentumInfluencerNetwork

The story is told in flashbacks during the court case to determine if the family can stay in the United States. It kept my attention during the whole movie. I think the flashback scenes were woven into the court room scenes very smoothly. The Petrosyan family’s story is fascinating, heartbreaking, and full of hope.

Between Borders is a drama. So the movie is very dramatic in look, and feel. There are, however, some lovely moments between the family, amongst the heartbreaking moments.

Between Borders Movie Review

The Petrosyan family’s story is fascinating, heartbreaking, and full of hope. The family had to leave their home and country with nothing. The girls couldn’t even take their favorite stuff animals. They left behind family, friends, home, belongings, and money. To become refugees in Russia. Where they were constantly bullied, the parents as well as the girls.

There was one scene with the mother that made me mad, and want to cry all at the same time.

Being from a Communist country, the Petroysyan’s didn’t have a faith in God. When his in-laws introduced his wife and daughters to church, and they all found comfort and solace there, Ivan was reluctant to attend. He did finally go, and became friends with the pastor, who helped him immensely. With his faith, and with his day to day life.

This film stars Patrick Sabongui, Elizabeth Tabish from The Chosen & Elizabeth Mitchell from Lost & The Santa Clause movies. I think they did a great job of portraying their characters. Especially Elizabeth Mitchell. Her character fought against the family being allowed to stay in the United States, so is very stern, and forceful in her questioning in court. However, her little smile after the verdict showed how she really felt.

Between Borders is a heartbreaking, and heartwarming, movie that I highly recommend.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
