I’m going to participate in the Eat From Your Pantry Challenge over at Money Saving Mom.
Here are my goals for the challenge:
1.I will try to only buy fruits, veggies, dairy.
I will have to buy some stuff for my husbands lunches, but I have talked him into changing his lunch menu this month to include more of what we already have. I also will have to buy more flour, sugar, etc. before the month is up. As I don’t normally keep a large amount of these.
2. My goal is to spend no more than $50.00 a week on food.
There are 6 of us, with out oldest son eating here sometimes, too. Our budget for the last 5 months has been $150. a week, as I have been sick, and unable to deal shop. My husband has been doing the shopping. Hopefully, I can take it over again soon.
That’s it! Just 2 goals. They do sound a little tough to me, though. Well, I will be able to stick to it, I’m just not sure how the rest of the family is going to like it!
I’m up for the challenge, though! I inventoried my freezers last week. I threw out a few odds and ends, and a couple of things that had been buried in the back and were to old to use.
I haven’t inventoried my cabinets, yet. There aren’t very many surprises in there. I don’t think, anyway!
