We had a short week this week. Calen’s 17th birthday was Friday, so we took the day off. All the kids were happy about that. I have to say that I enjoyed taking the day off from school, also.
He insisted on making his own cake. I’m still not sure how I feel about that. I’m glad that he is capable of doing it on his own. But at the same time, I miss doing it for him. I assured him I was more than happy to make his cake, but he still insisted, so I let him. He did a great job! He used a mix, but it was still great. Everyone told him what a great job he did.
Calen is a childhood cancer survivor. I know God has an awesome plan for him. I’m excited to watch it unfold!
Hannah finally finished yeast breads in home ec by making some awesome french bread. She even made herbed butter to go with it. So yummy!
She is turning into quite the baker. 🙂 I have to see what she wants to work on next. Quick breads, or chicken dishes or pasta dishes. I’m sure whatever she makes will be delicious and devoured by the family. 🙂
Today, they had a couple of friends over to film The Geek Show. It was so funny! I can’t wait to see it after Calen finishes editing it. I’ll be sure to post a link when he’s done.
All in all, we had a great week. And yes, regular school work got done, too!
