The Machine is the first book in the new series Truth Seekers by Bill Myers. Written for ages 8-14, the Truth Seekers series uses a 21st century approach to sharing ancient Bible truths. I had my 13 year old son read The Machine.

In the Truth Seekers Book One, The Machine, twins Jake and Jennifer have just lost their mother. They now have to move to Israel to live with the father that they have rarely seen. They don’t yet understand how all things work together for good to those who love God. But they will when a machine their father, an archaeologist, invented points them to the Truth.
To use the machine, they would put an object into it and the machine would take the area back to that time period. They didn’t time travel themselves, but once the time period changed, they could go in and do stuff. For example, they went back to the first Palm Sunday and could walk around among the crowds.
My son loved The Machine: A Truth Seekers Novel. (affiliate link) I showed it to him as soon as it came in the mail, and he took it to start reading. He finished it in less than 24 hours. He didn’t want to put it down. The story line is interesting, with funny parts, and includes Bible truths throughout.
