My family can go through headphones like you would not believe. Well, if you have kids, then you will believe it! They always some how manage to break the wires and rip the ear piece apart. And then, oh my!, I get “I didn’t hear you” all the time! I was happy to receive AfterShokz Trekz Titanium sport headphones. They do away with all my pet peeves about headphones. And they offer so much more!
Trekz Titanium are wireless, open ear sport headphones that use bone conduction to transmit the audio waves to the inner ears through the skull, bypassing the eardrums completely. These headphones are placed on your cheekbones, not in the ear canal. That means you can still hear what is going on around you, while you are listening to music, talking on your phone, etc.
Bone conduction is not something we hear about very often. This graphic shows the difference in how the sound waves are transmitted with bone conduction and air conduction.
The Trekz Titanium Bone Conduction Headphones come complete with User Guide, Warranty Card, Fitbands to adjust the head size, charging cord, ear plugs, and carrying bag. The ear plugs are for situations where it is safe for you to block out the ambient sound, such as on planes, trains, etc.

When I first tried them on, they felt a little weird. My family had the same first feelings. After we had them on for a couple of minutes though, we realized how comfortable they are! They fit different than any headphones you have ever tried! The band of the headphones goes behind your head, down towards the neck. Nothing goes in the ear canal. Rather the headphones sit in front of the ear on the cheekbone.
The headphones transmit sound perfectly, with no distortion of any kind that I noticed. When I had them paired with my cell phone listening to music, phone calls would ring in the head phones. The headphones have a microphone so you can use them while talking on the phone. The Trekz headphones feature dual noise canceling microphones that exclude surrounding noise, effectively enhancing speech.
Charging the Trekz headphones is easy. Plug the headphones into your computer using the included cord. The headphones charge fully in 1 1/2 hours. A single charge will last for 6 hours of music and calls. You can also do a partial charge if you need the headphones quicker.

I absolutely LOVE that they are made to be comfortable (open-fit design) for wearing them long term. I have such problems with wearing earbuds and headphones. They begin hurting my ears, so I can’t have them in for very long. I would LOVE to try these!
