I cooked 15 pounds of hamburger on Tuesday. I used 4 cups, about 2 pounds, for spaghetti sauce that night. I also put 3 -4 cup bags of the cooked hamburger in the freezer. On Wednesday, I turned the remaining hamburger into taco meat. We used 2 cups for dinner that night. Three of the kids weren’t home, that’s why we used so little. lol I put 4 – 3 cup bags, and 1 -2 cup bag of the prepared taco meat in the freezer. That will make for some easy meals!
In the Kitchen with Linda & Dinner Menu
Last Thursday was our 33rd wedding anniversary. We couldn’t go out to eat that night because of kid activities, so we went out Friday night. We ate at Cheddar’s. If you haven’t been to one, the food is really good. You are served huge portions for a good price, too. I can never eat what all the food on my plate. I always have to get a carry out container. It’s always good for lunch the next day, too.
We ordered onions rings. Look at this huge pile! Yummy!
I had steak on a bed of onion straws, chicken strips, sweet baby carrots, and macaroni and cheese. Of course, I didn’t finish it all. I gave about 3/4 or more of the steak to my husband, and I still had to bring two of the chicken strips home.
We both said we were stuffed after eating our dinners. But my husband suggested we go for ice cream anyway. lol I had a small hot fudge sundae. yum!
While we were out eating, the kids at leftovers. hehehehe
I decided on Saturday that it was time for my 15 almost 16 year old daughter to start cooking supper. That and I didn’t feel like cooking. lol She often makes homemade mac and cheese for lunch, so she wanted to make it for supper. She also made fish sticks and tater tots. She often makes cookies, so using the oven was not new to her. So this meal wasn’t really a stretch for her. It’s a start. lol
Now…. to answer the question that I get asked about a hundred times a day……….What’s For Dinner?

Hi from your neighbor this week at MPM. Great idea cooking up all the beef on the weekend to have in freezer during the busy times.
