Computer Stuff
Well, Conrad has been dying a slow and painful computer death. So I had to do something about it. I started early yesterday morning, saving all our important stuff. Pictures, school stuff, documents, and the all important favorites. Conrad was soooo not cooperating. I managed to burn cds with the pictures and school stuff, but then it wouldn’t let me burn a cd with our documents and favorites. sigh. So I spent a couple of hours trying to talk him into it. FINALLY, I was able to get a cd burned. BIG sigh of relief, as we had a LOT of stuff on there. Then I proceeded to write the hard drive to zeros. This is the third time of done it. But I finally got it up and running. I finally got the ethercard for the dsl working. I had installed the drivers, while the card was still plugged in. So I had to uninstall the drivers, unplug the card, re-install the drivers, and reinstall the card. phew! I got the internet working last night, but couldn’t remember the password for the Outlook Express, to download a days worth of mail. Since we’ve had dsl, I’ve just had it save the password, so I couldn’t remember what it was! Well, I woke up in the middle of the night, and it came to me! lol I had just typed letters and numbers randomly to come up with a password, that’s why I couldn’t remember it. But my brain must of had it stored somewhere, and finally let me have it. So I finally downloaded mail this morning. Today, I’ve been working on getting stuff re-installed. Like the important stuff for the kids, instant messengers. lol I think the only important thing left is the cd burner. I’m glad that’s over with, I’ve been putting if off for a while. Conrad is acting like a new computer now. Wonder how long it will last? I don’t see a new computer in our future any time soon, so I hope this lasts for a while.
So that was my major accomplishment this weekend. That and shopping at Walmart.
Oh, Friday night I did go to a crop! I got 13 pages done! And I didn’t stay the whole time. It was a PJ Crop. You can wear your PJ’s if you want, but this is my second one, and I haven’t seen anyone in pj’s yet! lol It was from 6 to midnight. I left at about 10, because I was tired, and had about a 45 minute drive home. But I had fun, and got a pretty good start on our vacation album. Now to just finish it. Usually getting started is the hard part!
Right now I’m at the library. The kids are here for the reading program. So I thought this was a good time to update, since I’m just sitting here anyway.
We have to stop at Save-a-Lot to pick up some animal food. Mel forgot to get it at Wal-mart. But it is cheaper at Save-a-Lot, if I’m in town anyway. If I have to make a special trip, it’s not. But don’t get me started on gas prices! It was up AGAIN today! sigh I have already cut down on going out, so not much else I can do to curb our gas expenses. sigh. I’m off to do a little surfing. 🙂
