Bible in 90 Days – Week 9 Update

August 31, 2010 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

It’s the beginning of Week 9!

Well, I’m behind. I had a sinus infection last week, that just knocked me for a loop.  So I’m behind.

I have finished up through Day  52. I should be on Day 57 today.  That’s  5  days behind. ugh    But I have a plan!

I plan on reading extra every day to catch up. Guess I better plan on reading 2 days worth every day. Then I would be caught up by the weekend.  I definitely plan on being caught up by next Monday.

I’m looking forward to this weeks reading! Which will be extra challenging! And extra rewarding!

How to Remove Gum from Clothing

August 30, 2010 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

This morning I was greeted by “Mom, I don’t know where it came from, but there’s gum on my apron!”
So, I used this opportunity to teach her how to remove gum from clothing. This is the easiest way that I know. Freeze it off. You can take the clothing item, and put it directly in the freezer. Or you can do what I did, I choose to show her how to do it with ice packs.

See the dreaded gum?!

We put one ice pack under the apron.

We then put another ice pack on top of the gum. This happens to be my homemade ice pack.

I let it sit for about 10 minutes, then the gum popped right off. If there is a stubborn spot that doesn’t want to come off, put the ice back on and try again in a few minutes.

My daughter then washed the apron, and all traces are gone.

So if your kids end up with gum on their clothes, the freezing method is the easiest way to remove it. It’s so easy, the kids can do it themselves.

Hey, if they can get gum on their clothes, they certainly can learn to get it off!

Saturday On The Farm

August 28, 2010 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

Saturday on the Farm

I have no pictures to share this week! I’ve been battling a sinus infection. ugh….. Nothing major happened in the garden this week. A couple of kids worked on weeding yesterday, but that’s all.

We did discover that the chickens got into the garden. They were scratching around where we had planted beets and carrots last week. So who knows if they’ll come up now. I hope they come up, even if they are all over the place!

Since I have nothing this week, I thought I’d share some of my favorite websites.

The Farmers Almanac Frost Chart is a good link to have saved.

Naturally Controlling Pests in the Organic Garden We try not to use any chemicals in our gardens, insecticides or store bought fertilizer.

Homesteading Today has forums for everything from gardening to goats to plant & tree identification to recipes.

Fiasco Farm has tons of information on goats. As well as goat milk recipes.

What are some of your favorite websites for gardening or animals?

It’s time for the Saturday on the Farm Carnival!

To participate, just write a post about your homestead, farm, farmette, or the tomato plant on your deck. Your cows, goats, chicken, or your favorite kitty cat.
In your post, include a link back to me. Then enter your link below.
It’s that easy! Hope to see your link below!

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
