I was able to preview the new Christmas Under the Stars special featuring Lauren Daigle recently. I loved it!

Ok, I love Christmas music. And I love several of Lauren Daigle songs. So I was really looking forward to watching this special.

It did not disappoint!

Christmas Under the Stars featuring Lauren Daigle Review & Giveaway

Lauren Daigle is a two-time GRAMMY-Award winner and multi-platinum-selling artist. Her first full-length Christmas television special, “Christmas Under The Stars with Lauren Daigle,” airs Sunday, December 6 at 9 p.m. EST on BYUtv.

**Edited to add – If you missed this when it aired, you can still watch it on BYUtv!

Check out these videos!

Lauren sings several of the Christmas songs that everyone knows and loves. She did an amazing job singing them all. My favorite was her rendition of The Little Drummer Boy.

Interspersed among the Christmas songs, Lauren shares with us. She tells us why these are her favorite songs, little stories about her Christmas memories, and just little tid bits about her life. I enjoyed listening to her stories and getting to know her a little bit.

In addition to the Christmas songs, Lauren sings a couple of her songs. I Will Rescue You, and You Say. I love those songs, so I’m glad she included them in this special.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching, and singing along, with Christmas Under the Stars. I wouldn’t have minded in the least if it was longer!

Christmas Under The Stars with Lauren Daigle on Sunday, December 6 at 9 p.m. ET | 6 p.m. PT on BYUtv. You can also stream the program for free on the BYUtv app anytime after the premiere.

Lauren Daigle’s new CD Behold: A Christmas Collection is available here.

Cultivation Generation Review & Giveaway

June 19, 2012 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy 3 Comments

I recently found out about Cultivation Generation and the new album, My Foundation, that was released today.

My Foundation was recorded live at the Cultivation Generation conference. The mission of this conference is to connect students with a powerful worship experience that is rooted in bringing people together for the purpose of sending them out.

Cultivation_Gen_HIGH RES cover.jpeg

Cultivation Generation was founded by Jeremiah Carlson, who is also the lead singer and songwriter of The Neverclaim which is featured on the album. Other contributors include notable Vineyard worship leaders and songwriters Anabeth Morgan, Stephen Lampert, David Linhart and Jesse Meyer.

“We wanted to design a conference that would funnel back into the local church, foryoung people to get a vision of more than just hyping them up, but sustaining a revival bygiving them the tools to lead and disciple others,” Jeremiah Carlson says. “Music is essential tocapturing and influencing culture, so making worship a focus of the conference made alot of sense.”

This video tells the story of Cultivation Generation as well as containing samples of the songs.

Pretty good, huh? I really enjoy listening to this album. It is worship music, some slow, some fast. I also had some of my family listen to it. The three that listened to it all liked it. I even had requests to put the music on their cellphones. Finding music that the whole family can enjoy together is getting harder and harder nowadays. I’m thankful for Christian artists and companies that make great music for us to listen to.

You can find out more about Vineyard music on the Vineyard Worship website,  the Discover Vineyard Facebook page and and on Twitter, Vineyard Music. Cultivation Generation also has several places online to visit, the Cultivaton Generation website and  the  Cultivation Generation Facebook page.

To hear more Vineyard music or to purchase, visit the Youtube channel, or iTunes. The My Foundation CD retails for $13.99. Right now, you can download the My Foundation MP3 for $9.99.

Even better, I’m giving away a My Foundation downloadable album! Simply fill out the Rafflecopter form below.

Stand Up! Big Band Praise CD Review

July 6, 2011 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy Leave a Comment

Stand Up! Big Band Praise J4082

I really loved listening to Stand Up! Big Band Praise.  It is such fun music to listen to, my whole family loves it.

I don’t think I’ve ever played big band music for my children before. I enjoyed introducing them to a new kind of music.

The songs on Stand Up! Big Band Praise are music only, no lyrics. That’s ok, with songs such as Just a Closer Walk with Thee, What a Friend We Have in Jesus, and God Will Take Care of You, you will know the words to some. Your kids will even recognize Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho, I know mine did.

The first time I put Stand Up! Big Band Praise in, the whole family gathered around to listen. One day, we turned this cd on while cleaning house. The lively music got us all working faster.  The big band style of music if great for just listening to, or for having on in the background while doing something more active.  This upbeat music would be great for walkers and runners, any form of exercise really.

I think this would also be great to play in the background when you have company over.  I’ll be trying it next time we do.

My whole family loved Stand Up! Big Band Praise and I think you will, too!

For more information about Stand Up! Big Band Praise, visit Discovery House.

*Disclosure of Material Connection: I received one copy of this  cd from Discovery House Publishers for review purposes. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. Robert Pierre – New Christian Recording Artist

May 14, 2011 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy Leave a Comment

I recently heard about a new recording artist, Robert Pierre. He’s an 18 year old high school senior. A very talented 18 year old. I love all 4 of his new Contemporary Christian songs!

You can listen to 4 of Robert Pierre’s songs at Noisetrade. Once on NoiseTrade, you simply click the Robert Pierre EP image to open the online player. You’ll see the 4 songs available: JESUS, YOU HOLD ME NOW, BREAKING MY HEART, IDENTITY.

AND, if you’re interested in downloading all four songs for FREE to have on your own computer or ipod, NoiseTrade.com provides that downloadable zip file of the 4 songs when you enter your email address, postal code & click NEXT (just under the online player). After you click NEXT, NoiseTrade will email you a link that you can quickly click to have the 4 songs downloaded. I just tried it, and it works. 🙂

If you want to see the lyrics, here are links for those: Jesus, You Hold Me Now, Breaking My Heart, Identity

With music, I’m all about the lyrics. To me, the lyrics are first, and the music second. I love good music, too, but it’s the lyrics that make a song great. That make we want to listen to a song over and over again. To tell others about the song.

I’m finding it very hard to pick a favorite out of these four songs. Here are a couple of lyrics:

From Jesus:

All my concerns, my deepest hurt My Saviour’s been where I am Life comes undone and there’s no one Who understands like He can So even when I stumble and my world is torn apart There is One whose holding my heart Any desperate day One word I can pray All I know to say Jesus

From You Hold Me Now:

On that day when I see All that you have for me When I see You face to face There surrounded by Your grace All my fears swept away In the light of your embrace Where Your love is all I need And forever I am free

No weeping, no hurt or pain, no suffering You hold me now, You hold me now No darkness, no cycling, no hiding You hold me now, You hold me now, You hold me now

See what I mean? Awesome lyrics! I guess, if I really had to pick a favorite, it would be Jesus. As of right now. lol

Robert’s full-length CD will be released later this summer. Join Robert’s Facebook page to keep up to date with his latest news. He manages his own page. 🙂 And if you want to see Robert doing one of his favorite things, play basketball, you can see a video of Robert doing some water basketball trick shots.

I hope you listen to Robert Pierre’s new songs. I really did love them. He’s a very talented singer. I can’t wait to share these songs with my kids. They’re going to love them!

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
