10 Things You Probably Don’t Know About Me

July 15, 2014 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy 2 Comments

Just for fun, here are 10 things you probably don’t know about me, Linda.

10 Things You Probably Don’t Know About Me

1. I have always disliked the name Linda. I guess because there were always so many other Lindas in school. I don’t dislike it enough to pay to change it, though. lol

2. I always wanted to have 10 kids. Even when I was a teenager. I wanted to adopt them all. God had other plans, though. He gave us 6 biological children.

3. I won a beauty pageant when I was in kindergarten. Our Little Miss for Kentucky. I was supposed to go on to nationals in Texas, but my parents didn’t want it to go to my head, lol, so we didn’t go. I never would have gone on to more pageants in my teenage years. I would have hated being up in front of all those people.

4. In Junior High Home Ec, we have to do a fashion show with the clothing items we had sewn. I made a dress for myself and shorts and a shirt for my little brother, around 4 or so at the time, and made him go up on stage with me. See No. 3 above. lol

5. I’m a perfectionist. So bad that I have to leave the room when the kids are doing a project or a chore. Otherwise, I have to tell them how to do it “the right way”.

6. When I read the obituaries, I scan down them to check on the ages of the people. I guess that’s because my son had cancer. He is a survivor, but I still do this. I didn’t do it before his cancer. That’s the only explanation I can think of.

7. I love to cook and bake. I show people that I care about them by feeding them good food. 🙂  But some days, I just don’t want to cook anymore!

8. I knew since I was a teenager that I was going to homeschool my children. I have no idea where I even heard about homeschooling from. I just always knew I was going to do it. And I have since my oldest started kindergarten in 1991, but really since birth. That would mean I’ll soon be starting my 23 homeschool year!

9. I am a middle child. With an older and younger brothers. I really feel that I missed out by not having a sister.

10. I’m old. 51 years old to be exact. And my kids are ages 28, 26, 19, 18, 15, 14. And I have the gray hairs to prove it! lol

Youre not old! You are as *young* as my mom, and at 14, I’m her oldest. My little sister is 12.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 3:16-17 NKJV
