I spent last week in the kitchen getting ready for a huge spaghetti dinner fundraiser that we hosted. My daughter is raising money for her mission trip this summer. I made all the food for 200 people!
Salad in bowls ready to be picked up by the diners.
In the Kitchen with Linda & Dinner Menu
I planned on having 200 people, so I made 40 pounds of spaghetti, 93 1/2 cups of spaghetti meat sauce, and 44 cups of Cincinnati Chili.
This is what 40 pounds of cooked spaghetti looks like. That’s 18 gallon freezer bags full!
Some of the spaghetti meat sauce.
More meat sauce, and some of the Cincinnati Chili on the left. It’s the darker colored bags.
I was thankful that our church had several of these big electric roasting pans that I was able to use. I didn’t have to use a million slow cookers. lol
We did have a lot of leftovers, so I put sauce on the spaghetti, and put it in the freezer.
A post is coming soon on how to plan and execute a fundraiser spaghetti dinner!
Now…. to answer the question that I get asked about a hundred times a day……….What’s For Dinner?
Saturday – quick & easy- Take out pizza, because the family didn’t want to cook!
Sunday – soup & sandwich day – Spaghetti dinner at church for lunch, then leftover spaghetti for supper
Monday – chicken – Cookout! hamburgers, and bison burgers! And leftover salad The non adventurous girls, (including me!) will be having sloppy joes instead of bison!
Tuesday – pizza/pasta – Roasted turkey, rice, beets
Wednesday – beef – Spaghetti, lol, with garlic bread, broccoli
Thursday – chicken – Roasted Turkey, gravy, twice baked potatoes from the freezer, green beans
Friday – beef – Venison, potatoes and carrots in the slow cooker
