I’m not sure why, but my family can not leave a dish towel hanging up. They are not happy until it is crumbled in a ball somewhere, or laying in the floor. sigh It drives me insane!
So way back in 2007, I made these Crochet Dish Towel Top.
They worked pretty well. Those towels are long gone now. Well, I do have one left, but it is a rag now. lol That’s ok, because I have made something even better now!
Crochet Towel Holder
This Crochet Towel Holder! It’s so much easier to make then the one pictured above, and I can use it with any towel.
It’s supper easy to make, too!
Crochet Towel Holder
Crochet chain 12, dc in 2nd stitch from hook & across.
Complete eight rows of dc.
To finish the edges, single crochet down one side, 2 sc in each dc putting hook under the dc.
SC in first dc after you turn the corner, chain 15, attach chain to the other end of the row by single crocheting in the last dc of that row. Making sure that the chain is not twisted, but laying flat.
Continue crocheting down the other side, 2 single crochet in each dc, putting hook under dc. SCsc in 1st dc on end around corner, ch 15, attach with sc to last dc of row making sure that the chain is not twisted.
SC in each sc down side, sc in each chain of loop, sc in each sc down side, sc in each chain of loop, slip stitch to first sc of side row. Fasten off, weave in ends.
To use, place towel holder over towel bar and insert towel through both loops.
It’s working great! Maybe it’s just because it’s new, and my family is just humoring me, but my new crochet towel holder is keeping the towel off the floor!
I like this because you can use any towel. I’ll have to give it a try-thanks for the pattern. Have a good week!
