I am so excited to participate in the annual Giving Back Packs Event again this year! This is my 5th year to participate! You can see my Giving Back Pack posts from 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015.
We are welcoming back one of our favorite sponsors, Aldi and we are so grateful that they have offered to support our campaign again this year. Each blogger received a $25 gift card from our sponsor, Aldi. Each blogger then purchased $25 worth of school supplies at their local Aldi store to fill the back pack and donated the back pack filled with school supplies to a child or charity of their choice. The goal this year is to collectively donate at least 30 back packs full of school supplies to children in need.
My local Aldi’s had several back packs to choose from. They also had insulated lunch bags, hard sided lunch containers, and lots of dorm room supplies.
My Aldi’s also has a great selection of lunch time foods & snacks to send to school with the kids. If you haven’t been to Aldi’s lately, you should stop by, they have changed for the better. They have a collection of gluten free foods called live G free, a line of foods called Fit & Active, and their own line of organic foods.
While my local store didn’t carry any school supplies, paper, pencils and such, other stores do. I purchased this back pack there, but had to purchase the school supplies at another store. This large back pack was only $6.99!
I knew this back pack was going to a girl, so I got a pink one. I filled it with supplies for an 8th grader. I bought a lot of supplies! I paid $25.32 for all these supplies. I went over budget, since the $25 was supposed to included the back pack, too. And it is not even everything that was on the 8th grade supply list for my local school!
I purchased high lighters, index cards, a compass/protractor, pens, pencils, erasers, tape, 5 composition notebooks, 3 binders, dividers, filler paper, graph paper, 5 folders.
I was so inspired by the Giving Back Packs annual event, that I filled 2 more back packs to give away!
I filled this back pack with some of the supplies needed for a 6th grader. Filler paper, folders, index cards, pens, pencils, pencil sharpener, erasers, scissors, 5 composition notebooks, highlighters, tape, ruler, and a calculator!
I filled this back pack with supplies for a kid in kindergarten. I put in some fun stuff for them to use at home, too. Like the construction paper, the 2 primary journals, and the Learn to Write handwriting pads of paper. I added some markers, scissors, glue, glue sticks, hand sanitizer, pencil case, pencil sharpener, ruler, and folders. I’m not seeing any pencils in the picture, but I’m pretty sure I put some pencils in the back pack, too.
I donated these 3 back packs filled with school supplies to 3 kids that I knew about in my community that needed school supplies.
A big thank you to Aldi for being a sponsor this year! Check out ALDI on their social channels:

*Disclosure: I received a $25 gift card to Aldi’s to purchase these school supplies. I was not compensated in any way for this post. In fact, I spent over $45 out of my own pocket purchasing these school supplies.
