Super Savings Saturday!

I’ve been shopping at CVS since D was diagnosed with diabetes in May of 2002. His Dr. gave him a glucose meter that uses CVS brand strips (as well as a name brand) I have checked around, and these are the cheapest strips around. Anywhere. $26.99 for 50 strips. If you buy the 100 count box they are even cheaper per strip.
Anyway, I have dabbled a little in using the CVS card and the Extra Care Bucks. But I am now going to start getting serious about it! So this is what I did when I went shopping on Monday. I didn’t have very much out of pocket $ to start with, But I think I did pretty good. See what you think….

I bought: Crest Prohealth $3.29
and the Playtex Sport $4.99

I used a $1.00 coupon for the toothpaste, and a $2.50 coupon I printed off the net for the Playtex (that I found out about from Crystal), along with .50 in extra bucks (Octobers extra bucks earnings from the last quarter.)
I got back 2 extra buck coupons: $3.29 for the toothpaste and $3.00 for the Playtex.

So for $4.75 (with tax) out of pocket I have $6.29 in extra bucks for next week! Not bad for just starting!

And a funny story……I asked the teenage girl (who shall remain nameless, but there is only one living here! lol) for the pink box back that I bought her. “It’s in the bathroom. What do you want it for? Are you going to take a picture? Why are you taking a picture of that? Are you insane?” I said you’ll see, I’m going to blog it. “Your wierd!” was the reply I got! ROFLOL
