What’s For Dinner?

March 22, 2010 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

Another week, another menu. and a pretty easy one at that. I like easy. I have extra baking and cleaning to do this week, so easy is good.

Saturday Digiorno Pizza from Houseparty.com We had so much fun!

Sunday – Lunch – Cheeseburgers with all the fixings, Supper – homemade vegetable soup, cornbread
Monday – Leftovers
Tuesday – Meatloaf, twice baked potatoes, salad
Wednesday – Baked Chicken, Baked Potatoes, salad
Thursday – Lasagna, broccoli, salad
Friday – Salisbury Steak, mashed potatoes, or rice, (haven’t made up my mind yet)green beans, salad

If the weather is nice, we may end up cooking hamburgers outside, instead of making Salisbury Steak. We’ll have to wait and so how the weather is.

Saturday on the Farm

March 20, 2010 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

The week got off to a good start, when I sold 2 rabbits on Sunday. A male and a female, we only have one male left now, out of the babies. Here’s a pic of the parents. It was really odd, the baby girls looked like the mom, and all the baby boys looked like the dad.

Lily the Mom….

Beast the Dad…

It looks like Sugar, the cat, is expecting kittens. We have no idea when. We’ll just have to keep an eye on her. We like to make sure the cats have their kittens inside the house so we can handle them. We don’t need a bunch of wild kittens running around.

A & Z have been enjoying the warm weather, playing outside a lot. The built themselves a fort of some kind. Including putting up a flag. The chickens seem to be enjoying it, too.

Of, course, I had to take pictures of the flowers. lol There are a lot more open this week.

This is the whole “front bulb garden”, that’s what we call it. Because it’s in the front, and it’s all bulbs. lol Very original, I know. lol That’s a butterfly house hanging on the old satellite post. We have yet to see any butterflies actually living in it. Maybe this year.

We had the first cookout of the year. Hot dogs over the fire. It was so nice to be able to do it again. We usually have a fire every Friday night. It’s so relaxing. My kids aren’t the only ones who wear snow boots and shorts this time of year. Right?!

After we ate, we went to look at the flowers in the front yard. H got a surprise when she looked down and saw a snake on the rocks about 6 inches in front of her! Much screaming ensued. I might have been doing some of it. Ok, I did….it was me! I was standing right next to H when she started screaming and pointing.

But never fear, our hero came and killed the snake for us.

Then held it up for a picture with it. That C took, because H and I left and went in the house!

And today is the First Day of Spring! Yeah…we are so ready for spring here!

Tea Tree Oil

March 19, 2010 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

I’ve used Tea Tree Oil for a couple of years for skin problems such as poison ivy. We’ve also used it to make our acne soap for several years. This soap works really well on my daughters skin. They can tell a difference when they stop using it.

I’ve been battling sinus problems for several months now. So I’ve been researching tea tree oil. Here are a few links that I found helpful:

Melaleuca and Tea Tree Oil are the same thing

– Information, they also sell it, but it is easy to find locally. My Walmart even sells it. And of course, your local health food store will carry it, but it’s cheaper at Walmart.

Just Because We Can

March 18, 2010 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

This time of year, it’s hard to keep the goats inside their fence. They always think the grass is greener on the other side. So out they jump.

They quickly find that the grass isn’t any better on the outside than on the inside.

You know what it really is?

They jump out just because they can.

The goats never jump back in by themselves. We always have to escort them to the gate and open it for them.

How often do we do something just because we can?

In those days there was no king in Israel: everyone did what was right in his own eyes. Judges 17:6

Then we have a hard time going back. It seems like there is always a fence in the way.

I’m thankful Jesus is always there to take me back in.

To open the door for me and escort me back to the Father.

Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
