Old Fashioned DVD Review

June 15, 2015 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

Old Fashioned is a romantic drama that follows Clay Walsh, a former frat boy who gives up his reckless carousing and now runs an antique shop in a small Midwestern college town. Clay has become notorious for his lofty and outdated theories on love and romance, and for his devout belief in God.

Getting Healthy with Linda

June 14, 2015 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

My progress has been pretty non existent for the last couple of weeks. I worked so hard, it took me a couple of weeks to recover. It’s pretty frustrating to feel so bad, and so weak, and so tired, that I really can’t do anything. The only reason I get anything done is pure determination. I will make sure my family has food to eat, and they get to the places they need to go to. Even if I can’t drive, I ride along while one of the kids drives. The ones that have their permits or license! lol

In the Kitchen with Linda & Dinner Menu

June 8, 2015 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

My daughter and son begged to be able to make a s’more dip that they saw on Facebook. Because my daughter was bored because she is having to sit around with a hurt knee, I gave in. I brought all the ingredients to the dining room table, and she assembled it.

Let’s just say it didn’t turn out as expected!

The Hutterites are a plain Christian group related to the Amish and Mennonites. Ever since I first heard of the Hutterites a couple of years ago, I have been interested in reading more about them. So when I heard about the Hutterite Diaries, I knew I had to read this book.

In the Kitchen with Linda & Dinner Menu

June 1, 2015 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

We had  several Amish families move into our county last year. It’s so nice to see the horse and buggies driving around our little town. One Amish store opened up about 8ish miles from our house. We’ve been there a few times, and we really love the cheese. I have my eye on a few baskets that this family makes. As soon as I get done with my new pantry, and get my kitchen  in order, I plan on buying a few of them.

Now, the families are holding bake sales to raise money to build their own school. I missed the first bake sale, but my husband and I were able to go to the latest sale on Saturday. We spent about $20. on baked goods.  The cream filled donuts that are in the bag in this picture were so good! Like amazing! I will admit to eating 2………

Amish bake sale

Good thing they aren’t having these sales every week! Because I will be in line early to buy some next time! lol

After the bake sale, which is only about 3 miles from my house, we headed to the Amish store to buy cheese. This time, we got colby, swiss, pepper jack, and parmesan. So much better than the cheese you can buy in the store. It’s not made here in Kentucky, but it is made in Ohio. So it might not be local, but it’s regional. lol

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 3:16-17 NKJV
