Too Many Graduations

May 28, 2015 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

Back in the day, hahaha, when I was in school, there where only 2 graduations by the time you finished 12th grade. Kindergarten and high school.

Many kids go to Pre-School now and have a graduation before they even go to Kindergarten. Complete with caps and gowns.

I think kindergarten graduation started because kindergartens were privately owned when they first started. When public schools started offering kindergarten, they kept the graduation. That’s my theory, anyway.

Too Many Graduations - When did changing school buildings become full cap and gown graduation worthy?

In the Kitchen with Linda & Dinner Menu

May 25, 2015 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

Last week, I baked 5 pounds of boneless skinless chicken breast using this Zesty Lemon Seasoning. We ate some for supper that night, I put some in the freezer, and I used some in Chicken Alfredo. The seasoning added another level of flavor, and was so good.

Getting Healthy with Linda

May 24, 2015 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

As far as steps go, I did really bad this week! In my defense, we had a very busy week.

Getting Healthy With Linda

I also fully admit that because we were so busy, I did not do as well with the food that I ate. I will definitely get back to paying more attention to what I eat this week!

Our Homeschool Week in Review

May 24, 2015 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

We’ve been pretty busy the last two weeks. That includes several volunteer days at the horse ministry for Abby. She also went to revival a few nights this week at another church. One night, she sang with her group from church, and another night she helped sing for the alter call. Two other nights, she went just because she wanted to, and didn’t sing.

She has spent some time working on her consumer math.  She’s doing pretty much any thing, rather than work on geometry. She’s part way through it, and knows she can’t graduate without it. She’s just saving it for last. As long as all the work gets done, I don’t care what order she does it all in. She’s only 16, and won’t turn 17 until the fall, so I’m in no hurry for her to finish. She’s the one that wants to finish early. She is very self motivated.

And likes to work on the couch! lol She has raised all the money she needs for her mission trip this summer! Now she needs to start packing!

Called To Be Amish – Book Review

May 20, 2015 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

I have always liked to read about the Amish. And shop at Amish stores when possible. And eat Amish food. I don’t think I’m alone in this. Many people are curious about the Amish lifestyle. That’s why I was looking forward to reading Called To Be Amish by Marlene C. Miller.

Fewer than one hundred outsiders have joined the Old–Order Amish—and stayed—since 1950. Marlene C. Miller is one of them.

Encouragement for Moms with Light Bladder Leakage and the Underwareness Movement

May 18, 2015 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

Thank you to Depend for sponsoring today’s post about the #underwareness movement.

Becoming a Mom brings many wonderful things. Joy, happiness, and more love for this new little person than you ever thought possible. Becoming a Mom also brings it’s share of hardships.  Including sleepless nights, and the thought that you might never shower again. For some Moms, those hardships include light bladder leakage. You don’t have to be an older mom for this to happen to you, either.  According to Depend, there are more people with bladder leakage in their 20’s than in their 80’s!

For some women, they start having light bladder leakage after their first baby. It started for me after my 4th baby was born. When you are a young mother, and light bladder leakage first begins, it’s very hard to admit that you have this problem. Women have always been afraid to let anyone know that they have light bladder leakage. Because it is something that women don’t usually talk about, we all think we are the only ones experiencing it.

You are not alone! There are 51 million women who experience bladder leakage. The average age of someone with bladder leakage is only 52! More people with bladder leakage are 50 or younger than 60 or older!

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
