Bible in 90 Days – Final Check-in

October 5, 2010 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

I did it! I finished the Bible in 90 Days Challenge! I finished last Friday, October 1, on day 89!

I did get behind, and have to read 2 and 3 sections a day to finish on time.

I am so glad I found the Bible in 90 Days Challenge. It is just that, a challenge. It’s very challenging to read that much of the Bible every day.

But it is so incredibly worth it!

You really do see the overall theme of the chapters when you read it all at once. When you reading a chapter or two a day, your down in it. When your reading 12 pages a day, your up above, looking down, and you see things that you don’t see when your down in each chapter individually.

When I read the Bible, I like to read all the notes, too. So while reading for this challenge, I had a hard time skipping the notes. lol

And I never did get my family trained to not interrupt while I was reading. I started reading with a post it not in my hand, so when I was interrupted, I could put the post it where I was. I could then come back to the exact spot with out having to spend 10 minutes trying to find where I left off. Once I started doing that, it relieved a lot of the frustration I felt from being constantly interrupted.

Not to say that my family shouldn’t have learned to not interrupt when I was reading the Bible. My kids aren’t little anymore. The youngest is 10, so they could gone longer than two minutes with out talking to me. Especially the adults. Anyway, the post it note was a major discovery for me. lol

I highly recommend the Bible in 90 Days Challenge. They are starting the next Challenge in January. My 14 year old daughter had wanted to do this last challenge, but because of camp, couldn’t participate. I think she will do it next time. I would also like to get my 15, soon to be 16, year old son to do it. They are required to read their Bibles for 30 minutes every day for school anyway, so this would easily fit into their schedule.

I might do it again then, too! For now I’m going to go back and finish a study on Ruth that I stopped to do this challenge. We’re also starting a womens Bible study at church again soon. I’m hoping that I’m able to attend, as I really like those.

And now that I have completed the challenge, I get to order the bracelet I have been wanting! That is my reward for completing the challenge. But really, just reading the God’s word is reward enough!

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 3:16-17 NKJV
