I was pleasantly surprised when I went to the store to purchase Brummel & Brown Spread to try for this post. There was only one left on the shelf! I thought that that must be good sign if the other spreads are still stocked and Brummel & Brown Spread was sold out.
Brummel & Brown
I was anxious to try Brummel & Brown Spread, so I decided to try it on my morning bagel first. Since it contains 50% less fat and calories than butter and no cholesterol per serving, I thought it would be a healthy addition to my breakfast. Since I try to avoid eating partially-hydrogenated oils, I was happy to see that Brummel & Brown contains no partially-hydrogenated oils, which means it has 0 grams trans fat per serving.
Brummel & Brown is made with nonfat yogurt, which gives it a smooth, creamy taste. I would love to be able to eat yogurt. It is so healthy for you. I can not, however, handle the taste. I can not taste the yogurt in this spread. Since Brummel & Brown is made with 10% nonfat yogurt, I can get a little bit in my diet without the yogurt taste that I can not handle.
So, back to my bagel. I tried Brummel & Brown on both a toasted, and untoasted bagel half. I used it straight from the fridge. The spread came out of the container soft and smooth. I was able to spread it easily over the untoasted bagel. Being easy to spread will make it great for spreading on bread. No more smooshed bread!
I lightly toasted the other half of my blueberry bagel. The spread melted quickly, and soaked into the bagel quickly. I finally got to eat my bagel after taking these pictures. lol The Brummel & Brown Spread has a mild tasted that complimented my bagel, not over power it.
Brummel & Brown is so versatile I would buy it again. You can use it on its own, like I did on my bagel, or as part of easy recipes. I think it would be delicious to lightly saute fresh vegetables in. If you are trying to eat healthy, I would recommend Brummel & Brown. Since she tries to watch her cholesterol, I’m going to tell my own mother about it!
