To bring this up to date:
Kenn went to my brothers house for the weekend, and didn’t come home until Monday evening.
Melissa’s piano recital went really well. She did a GREAT job playing “My Heart Will Go On”. She is getting really good. Now, if I could only get her to play Happy Birthday! 2 1/2 years of lessons, and she STILL won’t play it for our birthday parties!
Everyone came back to our house after, and we had a good time until 5:30 when Melissa left with Uncle D to go to his house for a week.
Tuesday Kenn started his new job in a local factory. So far he’s happy. He is working 10 hour days, so he’s really tired, but being male and 18, refuses to admit it!
It has been sooooooo quiet here without the teenagers. They claim the little kids make all the noise and cause all the trouble. BUT it has so quiet and peaceful without them here! Don’t get me wrong, I do miss them, but I’m enjoying the quiet! I have been spending my time reading and scrapping. I’ve been doing at least 1 page a day, my goal for the year. Some days 2, yesterday, 9!! I haven’t finished any today, yet! But I have sorted through some pics, trying to decide what to do next. I have over 40 years of pics to catch up on, so it’s a big decision!
Last night I took the kids to rent a movie as a treat. They picked Lion King 1 1/2. I picked Under the Tuscan Sun. I checked the book at from the library a couple of weeks ago. I prefer to read the book first, then see the movie. I really liked the book, but not the movie. The author did a wonderful job of describing Italy, but this wasn’t carried through in the movie. She was married in the book, and they did a lot of the work themselves in restoring the house and gardens, they did hire some out, though. In the movie she was divorced, and hired out all the work. Guess they had to work in the scene with the Italian guy. One of THOSE scenes. (She had been divorced, but remarried before they bought the property in Italy.) This is a true story, by the way. I recommend the book, but not the movie. I’m glad I didn’t buy it!
Today I’m working on laundry. You’d think I had 20 kids by the amount I have! A lot of it is caused from certain little ones taking clean clothes and mixing them up with the dirty. GRRRRRRR! On the bright side, I’m teaching them to fold and put away their own clothes, and Hannah and Calen are learning how to operate the washer and dryer. 🙂
I’m on lunch break now, but will be back to work soon. Have too, if I want to get some scrapping done.
