We actually had a good day today! We left at 8 a.m. to take Z to the dentist. The dentist looked said oh, he’s fine, should heal up fine. He wasn’t going to take an xray, until I told him that we could see bone/tooth pieces in the gum yesterday. So Z had his first dental xray, a full mouth view. There were 2 small “shadows” that showed, but dentist said he thought those were bone fragments, and not tooth. So either it’s fine, or when the permament tooth comes in, it will push the fragments out, OR they could cause a bubble on the gum. So Z’s fine, took the dentist visit well, even though he didn’t talk to anyone. Actually he didn’t talk ALL day. to anyone. not even me. 🙁 Guess his little mouth was too sore. He was swollen. 🙁 He didn’t eat very well today, either.
So after we left the dentist, we headed straight for the big city, and Calen’s clinic visit. We got to the clinic at 11, so it wasn’t too bad. Hannah and I dropped off more afghans (see my project page) Calen had a good visit. He passed his exam. 🙂 He decided that today he would get his blood drawn without using the Emla (skin numbing medicine) He did GREAT! I asked him how it felt to do it without the Emla, and he said “it hurt!” Benita (the woman that does blood draws at the clinic) said “It didn’t hurt him. He didn’t even flinch!” I was watching, he didn’t! Although, he still can’t look when it’s done. lol
Benita’s great with the kids. All the kids (mine) came in with us when Calen had his blood drawn. They didn’t want to pass up the chance to see their brother get stabbed. (their words! lol) Benita had pink and blue wrap to put on the kids after the blood draws, and she asked what color the siblings though Calen should have. The girls out numbered the boys, and Calen got PINK! ROFLOL
When we were leaving, Calen pulled his sleeve down to make sure the pink was covered, Benita saw that, and pulled his sleeve back up and told him “You have to show the pink!” ROFLOL He ripped it off as soon as we hit the hallway. ROFLOL
Then we left the clinic, stopped at Krogers to look for Fels Naptha soap, (nope, didn’t even it, even though the website says they do grrrr) Went to Michaels for gylercin melt and pour soap, oil painting supplies, a frame for the painting Mel did for me for my birthday, and some dies for my Sizzix sidekick (tags). When we left there, Mel said is that a Christian book store over there? yep, it was and She wanted to go in and see if they had the ring she wanted for cheaper than the local CBS, Yep they had it, but for the same price. She bought it, so she was happy. She wrote her first check there! I should have pulled out the camera and taken a pic! roflol I bought Lord of the Beans. The kids watched it on the way home. I didn’t was I was driving! But I listened and it sounds good! lol
Then off we went to Chuck E. Cheese for lunch! Except, there was a small problem, we couldn’t find it! After driving around where it was SUPPOSED to be for about 15 minutes, I finally stopped for directions (“Don’t be like a man, Mom, and not stop for directions” ROFLOL) It WAS where I thought it was, only the building was under construction, redoing the front. Here’s what it looked like:
Not exactly what CEC is supposed to look like!
Calen said “FINALLY! Can we go eat now? I’m starving!”
So we ate, had lots of fun, the kids had 80 tokens between them. I had to use 2 coupons, because we needed 2 pizzas. yep, I had coupons! roflol It still cost $47!!!
We left there a few minutes before 3. We were going to stop at D’s workshop, but I ran to Krogers to pick up some ice cream, yogurt, and drinkable yogurt, for Z since he had only had a little milk, and like 2 very small bites of pizza, oh and a little soda all day. Not enough! We got home at the same time as D.
So it was a good day, with good medical reports, and good traveling!

YEAH!! I’m so glad ya’ll got to go to CHUNKIE’s!! (that’s what T calls it. He can’t get it that it’s a mouse named Chuck. He thinks it’s a fat dude named Chunkie) ???
PTL about the good reports!!!
Hey, Calen? I have had tons of blood draws in my whole long life, and I don’t look either. It’s the looking that makes it hurt. (never look! that’s the secret! 🙂 I’ve also found that the people who work in a lab are LOTS better at drawing blood than a nurse in a doc’s office or something like that. They don’t do it every day, so they’re not as good at is.
Oh, and I got pink on Friday when I had my blood drawn. I was so tired, I didn’t care what color it was, but she put it on too tight! Argh!
Linda, they’ve been doing remodeling on that stupid strip of building for months and months! Last time we were there killing time, you had to walk through this long scary constructed hallway to get into (forget the name!) stores next to Service Merch and such. That’s just an area I’m used to traveling to, so I can find that one. LOL! Not much else, but I can find Freedom Dodge and Chuckie’s (and the stuff around him.) LOL!
Glad you finally found him! 🙂
~hugs all around~
