I like to cook and bake. a lot. I have always used the spray can of oil to grease my pans. Well, except cake pans, then I would use a paper towel and shortening.
In my never ending quest to cut my grocery bill, when my last spray can ran out, I didn’t replace it. I also very rarely buy paper towels anymore.
Those two things really changed the way I greased my pans. lol
I keep vegetable oil in a dispenser next to the stove. (The good olive oil is hidden in the cabinet, away from other cooks who would use to much of it. It’s like liquid gold. lol) So I now use a pastry brush to spread the oil in my cooking or baking pans. The brush I have is silicone, and it’s easy clean up.

Good tip. I hate getting my hands all greasy using Crisco and I also cringe at paying the price for the spray stuff. Honestly, I didn't know liquid oil would work for greasing pans. Guess I just accepted what my mom taught me – always use Crisco 🙂

I use a old bag (usually bread but whatever) and a little lard or butter to grease the pan and if I am really in a hurry I just use my fingers. I love that you quit using spray propellant and paper towels.
