The Mouse Trap

October 8, 2010 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

It’s been a crazy week. I’ve been feeling better, so I’ve been getting some stuff done. That’s a good thing. 🙂

Last Saturday morning, my daughter saw a mouse in the kids bathroom. So Daddy came to the rescue, and set out a glue trap. Saturday night, shortly after the kids went to bed, the mouse caught itself. So Dad set another trap just in case there was more than one mouse.

Fast forward to Sunday morning at 7:30. Zack came knocking on our door saying that there was another mouse on the trap. “OK, go back to bed” was my response.lol

2 minutes later, he came knocking again. “He said it’s a squirrel!” Thinking his big brother was trying to trick him, I said. “OK, go back to bed”. lol

Dad decided maybe he should check into the situation. So off he went. The kids had brought the trap out of the bathroom into the living room, so he didn’t have to go far.

He quickly came back and told me it wasn’t a squirrel, it was a chipmunk.

“Seriously?!”

Yes, it’s a chipmunk!

“What the gravy is a chipmunk doing in the house?!?!?!” um…yes….that was said loudly….lol    Which drew lots of laughter from the kids in the livingroom.

Who has a chipmunk in their kids bathroom at 7:30 on a Sunday morning?! Or any morning for that matter! Ha! We do!

We had had a birthday party here on Saturday for Abby who turned 12. The kids went in and out a lot, so they only thing I can come up with is it came in when they left the door open.

Because, seriously, how long can you have a chipmunk in your house and not notice it?!

So after posing for pictures (which he seemed to enjoy), the chipmunk was happy to be set free in the great outdoors. Which was done very carefully, so as not to draw the attention of the cats.

Hopefully, he now knows to stay away from the house were the crazy people glue him to a plastic tray then take pictures.

This chipmunk story made me laugh. He's so cute. The kids are probably happy that it was a chipmunk.

Oh my, what a story! We've had our share of mice, chipmunk, & squirrel adventures – but never a chipmunk in a mouse trap!

Too funny, sounds like something that would very likely happen around my crazy house! Thanks for sharing.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
