Family Movie Night – Truth Be Told – A Review

April 14, 2011 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

Truth be told is the 5th Family Movie Night movie, and premieres on FOX Saturday, April 16th at 8 ET.

Truth Be Told stars Candace Cameron Bure, David James Elliot and Ronnie Cox.

Truth Be Told plays upon the old adage, that “honesty is the best policy,” and according to Colorado’s leading marriage counselor, Annie Morgan (Candace Cameron Bure, “Full House” and “Make It Or Break It”), honesty is the key to successful long-term relationships. Ironically, Annie has never been married and doesn’t always follow her own advice. Truth Be Told will take viewers on an entertaining yet touching journey as Annie begins to realize that the truth may have its consequences, but ultimately it’s what opens our hearts and brings out the best in each other.

MY REVIEW:

I was privileged to be able to watch this movie before it airs on TV so I could share my review with you. I watched by myself, as my family was out. Truth Be Told is a great family movie! I can’t wait to watch it with my kids. They will love it.

Annie, played my Candace Cameron Bure, gets caught up in a lie by not correcting someones false assumption about her. That she was married to a man with 2 children that she hasn’t seen since college.

She tells him about it, and they decide to go along with it, so they can both get something that they want from a man who has enough money to make both their dreams come true.

Before you know it, they are both telling more lies. The children even lie to continue the charade. That’s when the lying really starts to get to Annie. Even though they aren’t her own kids, she does not like them lying for her, and thinking that it’s ok to lie in order to get what you want.

Finally, Annie can not take the pressure of being dishonest any more, and finally tells the truth. Since there are always consequences for lying, they see their dreams fall apart.

With out giving away too much, in the end, they do see their dreams come true, and then some!

Truth Be Told shows how it is better to tell the truth, even if we lose something that we want by doing so. It also shows that it is far better to tell the truth, then to lie.

Set an alarm on your cell phone, place a post-it note on your tv, (or on your forehead!) to remind you to watch Truth Be Told on FOX Saturday night at 8! Make a pizza, or some popcorn and enjoy a really great Family Movie Night with your family! You’ll be glad you did!

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
