It’s time for our Week Two Check-in!
How’s everyone doing? I’ll admit it, I’m a little behind. It’s taking me a little time to work out a schedule. I always find the weekends are hard to find time to read, too. I always find myself stopping to read the notes while I’m reading, too. If you find yourself doing the same thing, try keeping a notepad with you while your reading to write down what you want to look up later.
I am enjoying reading the Bible chronologically. It just takes some getting used to, all the turning back and forth. I just might have to invest in a chronological Bible. Are you using a regular Bible or a chronological one?
The Bible in 90 Days Twitter Parties start tonight (Monday). My name is @LindasLunacy. I’m not sure if I’ll make it yet or not. But I hope some of you will try to attend if your on Twitter. To make keeping up with the party easier, they’ve started a TweetGrid for the parties. Here’s the link:

You Are Here in the Bible (Ted Cooper of the Bible in 90 Days Ministry created You are Here in the Bible to help Bible in 90 Days readers get a snapshot of most of the books of the Bible as they were reading. His aim was to keep readers reading and not researching, therefore preserving more time for reading the entire Bible. This link takes you to page of links to each of his entries.) These You Are Here in the Bible pages are great for yourself, or to do together as a family.
Ok, it’s time to leave a comment below with your progress.
God bless you in your journey to read The Bible in 90 Days!
As of Sunday night, I have completed Day 9, a bit ahead.
I gave up on chronological and switched back to regular on day 2. It was a bit too chronological for me. I may try it again in the future, but only with a chronological bible.
We shall see if I stay ahead this week, besides starting homeschool for 2 of my kids, we are doing respite for a teeny tiny preemie this week and next. He is 6 weeks old, but only 6 pounds and was 8 weeks early (so not due for 2 more weeks). His foster mom is spending the weekdays at a Childrens Hospital on the other side of the state with his twin sister. She is not doing well. She has a genetic defect that is making her stop breathing and requires a feeding tube. Their older sister died of the same thing before age 3. Please keep these tiny babies in your prayers.
Flipping back and forth while reading does take some getting used to, Diane. It’s great that your ahead! Having a lead makes it easier to stay caught up when life gets busy. I will definitely pray for the little babies.
Good morning, Friends! I’m sending prayers up for those tiny sweet little babies, Dianne- and also for you and their foster Mom who are doing this incredibly important, loving work for them. This week has gone well for my reading plan. I like the chronological aspect of it so far. I also like those added notes that were sent with the Mom’s Toolbox email. I didn’t know that Job could have been a king. I found Job 28 to be so resonating for me yesterday. I pray for wisdom often in raising 5 children. Job 28 is such a beautiful illustration of where wisdom is found, and the depths we will go to find it- yet God alone holds the key. I’m looking forward to another week of drinking in the Word.
Hi Bess! I’m really liking the chronological reading, too. Mom’s Toolbox does send out great emails, don’t they? Have a great weekend!
I am a little behind because I reread sections that seem to be talking to me. I am hoping to get all caught this weekend because I have a three day week end. but I really love reading the bible chronological aspect. I really hope to follow through and complete this adventure I have taken on.
Hi Mary, It’s ok to get a little behind (I am!), just keep reading and you’ll get caught up. 🙂 You can do this, Mary!
Hi all! I’m right on schedule. I’m trying to get up before my kids to read, but they have thwarted that a couple times already. Fortunately, my husband is very willing to play with them in another room so I can have some quiet to sit and read at night, if need be.
I’m really enjoying reading this chronologically. And, at this point, I don’t find turning back and forth in the Bible to be all that big a deal. In fact, I think it is helping me stay focused. Have a great week!
Way to go, Julie, staying on schedule! My oldest is 26 and I’ve NEVER been able to get up before them. It’s like they sense I’m up, so they get up. I’m talking making no noise whatsoever but breathing, and they find me. lol My youngest is 12, so I don’t have to worry about toddlers anymore, Just teenagers and pre-teens. lol What an awesome way for your husband to help you complete this challenge! Have a great weekend!
I am behind and struggling. I find it confusing so far.
Hang in there, Sue. It will get easier. Have you checked out other versions of the Bible that you might find easier to read? Sometimes that can help. I’m praying for you, Sue. You can do this! 🙂
Good Evening all!! I am a little behind as well but enjoying the challenge! It is a bit hard with the back and forth but not too bad. I reread sections to get a full understanding so that is why I am behind. Sending up prayers for the little babies, Dianne and for you and all parties involved. Continuing to ask God for strength in order to complete this task and that each one of us gets through it successfully.
Hi Keziah! Once I got used to the flipping back and forth, I think it makes the reading easier as it breaks it up. That’s what takes me so long with my reading, too. I always want to reread and then read the notes, too. Keep reading, you’ll be able to catch up. Have a great weekend!
Hello everyone. I am staying on track with the reading. I’ve gotten into a nice schedule of reading in the evenings that seems to work well. Did anyone else reading Exodus have the movie “The Ten Commandments” running through their head? 🙂 Have a great week!
Your on track. Way to go, Ginny! Yes the biblical movies that I’ve watched always come to mind when I’m reading the Bible. It also makes me want to watch the movie again. lol Have a great weekend!
I am here. We lost internet/phone for a few days due to Tropical Storm Isaac and this has allowed me to stay on track.
Thanks for all the encouragement and for joining me in this journey.
M. Waters
I hope your still safe, Melissa, with minimal damage from the storm. We’re expecting rain from Isaac today and this weekend. By the time these storms reach, Kentucky, that’s all it is, rain. I hope in all the post storm busyness your still caught up. Have a great weekend!
