I was very busy in the kitchen this week! 🙂 All four teenagers were sick this week, so I kept them supplied with whatever they felt like eating. I made French Toast for them one day. I used my homemade wheat bread. I ran out of the egg mixture, but still had a couple of pieces of bread left. I didn’t want to make more eggs and then have eggs left. lol So I made croutons!
I diced the bread, drizzled it with oil, and sprinkled with sea salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Then baked it. They came out so good! We’ll be having them on our salad tomorrow!
I had 4 zucchini, 4 yellow squash, some cucumbers, onions, green bell peppers, another kind of pepper, and tomatoes given to me. I dehydrated all the zucchinis, the yellow squash, the onions, the green bell peppers, and a cucumber.
In this picture, you can see the cucumber on the left, a pint jar full of dried oregano from my herb garden, the onions, yellow squash, and zucchini. The little jar in front is the dehydrated green bell peppers. All this will be so good this winter!
The zucchini in the front is from my garden! Behind the jars is a pile of corn from another neighbors garden. We ate some tonight for supper. It was so good! I haven’t decided if I should try and can the few that are left, or if we should just eat them. lol We also ate the zucchini! Nothing better than vegetables from your own garden!
