I recently received an advanced copy of Max Lucado’s new book, Before Amen. In Before Amen, author Max Lucado joins readers on a journey to the very heart of biblical prayer, offering hope for doubts and confidence even for prayer wimps. Distilling prayers in the Bible down to one pocket-sized prayer, Max reminds readers that prayer is not a privilege for the pious nor the art of a chosen few. Prayer is simply a heartfelt conversation between God and his child.

I was very impress with Before Amen. I love that he includes a lot of Bible verses while explaining about prayer. I’ll admit it. My prayer life isn’t perfect. Since we are all human, I doubt if anyone’s is. I know I sometimes fall asleep praying. As a wife and mother, I often don’t have the time that I would like to devote to prayer. In Before Amen, encourages us to talk to God like we are talking to our Daddy. He has written what he calls a Pocket Prayer. Short, sweet, to the point, and easy to remember. This Pocket Prayer makes it easy for us to pray, no matter how crazy our lives are.
About the author: More than 120 million readers have found comfort in the writings of Max Lucado. He ministers at the Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas, where he lives with his wife, Denalyn, and a sweet but misbehaving mutt, Andy.
