Our Homeschool Week in Review

May 10, 2015 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

Abby started a new volunteer “job” this week. this is her on Saturday morning.

Can you guess what she will be doing?

Our Homeschool Week in Review

She is working at a horse ministry! She is starting out cleaning. Bathrooms, stalls, and whatever else is needed. Over the next few weeks, she will most likely start helping with the ministry, just as an assistant.  Abby is quitting her babysitting job after next week, so she plans on spending a couple of days a week volunteering. She has raised enough money for her mission trip!

Abby is opting to finish her work to graduate until she gets back from her mission trip. She could be reading to graduate in a month or two, depending on how hard she works. Since she’s only 16, I am fine with her waiting to graduate. I am glad that she is using her time constructively, instead of sitting around on electronics.

This week, we have been re-doing the girls room! We emptied the room, pulled up the carpet, the girls painted the room themselves, then helped Dad (a little, lol) put in a new wood floor. They did a good job of painting it, and this was the first time either of them had painted a room. Of course, some of the painting had to be done while standing on a chair. lol

Did you notice that I said they emptied their room? Their brother took down their wooden bunk beds for them, and brought the new metal bunk beds into the house for them. They were stored all week in the school room, along with everything else from their room!

Why, yes, the school room does look like their room threw up in it! This is a real life picture. Life doesn’t get any more real than this! lol Thankfully, as of tonight, most of this stuff is out of the school room!

Zach is working steadily along with his school work. He still wants to play video games more, though. He has started 4-H Archery Club and had his 2nd time shooting at the range on Saturday. Dad takes him, while I volunteer at the clothes closet on Saturday mornings. They only meet every other Saturday morning, so it’s easy to fit in our schedule. Why can’t all sports meet only every other week? lol It sure would be easier! lol Zach is really enjoying it. I don’t have a pictures to share because Dad never thinks to pull out his cell phone and take them! lol I will have to remember to send the camera with them next time!

And that brings us to tomorrow. Monday. Again!

I really like the color of the girls room. I think that is awesome that your daughter has saved up for money for a mission trip. I think that is amazing. It is definitely better then playing electronics. My kids love archery. I am hoping to have the kids join 4H next year and sign up for archery. We showed cows one year but I don’t think we will do that again.

My two older kids showed rabbits one year. You should see if you extension office offers archery. We have to go to another county to partipate. My son is really liking it.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
