God’s Not Dead: In God We Trust is the 5th movie in the film franchise. Even though it’s part of a series of movies, it is a stand alone movie.
In this new movie, Reverend David Hill, amid political and spiritual turmoil, steps up to run for Congress after an incumbent’s sudden death. Battling against Peter Kane, who aims to erase religion from policy, David’s fight becomes a beacon of hope and optimism for people seeking moral leadership in a divided world.
God’s Not Dead: In God We Trust Movie Review
The story starts with a pastor having to tell a mother carrying her little baby that the women’s center has been shut down, and they can no longer offer any help. He was not happy about it either. So when the opportunity presented itself for him to have a platform to make a difference in peoples lives, he took it.
The film is engaging with a captivating story that keeps the whole family entertained. God’s Not Dead: In God We Trust allows families and friends to discuss how to engage in this current political climate with courage. Most importantly, this film demonstrates that Christians should be optimistic, excited, and hopeful about the future.

The cast of God’s Not Dead: In God We Trust is phenomenal! David A.R. White (God’s Not Dead), Dean Cain (Adventures of Lois & Clark), Isaiah Washington (Grey’s Anatomy), Scott Baio (Happy Days), Samaire Armstrong (The O.C.), Charlene Tilton (Dallas), and Ray Wise (RoboCop) with guest appearances by Governor Mike Huckabee, Raymond Arroyo and Newsboys. Of course, music by the Newsboys is always great.
This interview with Samaire Armstrong is a must watch!
I loved this movie! The storyline, the cast, the message, all of it. The writing is amazing.
When told to talk a little bit less about God and little bit more on the dirt on his opponent, he said it was useless to fight dark with dark. “Repay no one evil for evil but give thought to do what is honorable.”
“You don’t win unless you play by their rules.” “I’ve already lost if I do.”
“If you know it’s God’s voice, why wouldn’t you listen?”
“God gave you a voice. God gave you a vote.”
There are too many great moments, and quotes to share!
The political discussion and debates in this movie are discussions currently happening this election year. They will inspire you to get out, use your voice and vote!
I highly recommend God’s Not Dead: In God We Trust for the whole family. There is nothing in it that kids can’t see.
This film is uplifting and relevant just like Mr. Smith Goes to Washington was 85
years ago in that Pastor Dave approaches politics with moral courage, loves his
country, stands up to corruption, and represents the principles that made America
great and continue to make America great.
