Zach found an activity in his English book that he wanted to do this week. He made 20 cut outs of his hands to make a game.
It is time for a FIRST Wild Card Tour book review! If you wish to join the FIRST blog alliance, just click the button. We are a group of reviewers who tour Christian books. A Wild Card post includes a brief bio of the author and a full chapter from each book toured. The reason it is called a FIRST Wild Card Tour is that you never know if the book will be fiction, non~fiction, for young, or for old…or for somewhere in between! Enjoy your free peek into the book!
You never know when I might play a wild card on you!
I recently received the books Grace Unplugged and Own It to review. Grace Unplugged is based on the motion picture of the same name. Own It, mentioned in the film, helps you discover what it means to really “own” your personal faith rather than just automatically following in the footsteps of parents, friends, or other influencers.
As part of the Schoolhouse Review Crew, I received The Presidential Game game to review. The Presidential Game is a fun way to learn about the presidential election and the electoral college.
The Presidential Game, which sells on the website for $35, is for ages 11 to adult. Since the game is played with teams, younger children can be included on teams with adults. This is a great family game.
Last week, with the help of my kids, we canned 13 quarts of applesauce from our own apples. Now we have a couple more batches of applesauce, then apple butter, apple jelly, dehydrated apples!
I didn’t do a In the Kitchen with Linda post last week, so I missed sharing a picture of my sons wedding cake. I was still recovering from the wedding that was held here on the property. I, being a perfectionist, see all the mistakes and have spent the last week going over in my mind everything that I did wrong. sigh….. My son and his new wife were happy, though. So that’s all that matters!
Now…. to answer the question that I get asked about a hundred times a day……….What’s For Dinner? See my menu below!
We started harvesting the apples this week. My husband and son filled up the white bucket in the picture to overflowing. It barely made a dent in the tree, and we have a few more apple trees, too. The kids helped me make 13 quarts of applesauce. I plan on using two more bucket fulls for two more batches of applesauce. Then we’ll start on apple butter and apple jelly. I love this picture. My son was trying to hide from the camera, so he was picking apples on the underside of the tree. lol
