Homemade Cracker Jacks

January 25, 2011 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

Homemade Cracker Jacks
1/4 c oil
1/2 c sugar
2 Tbsp water
1 Tbsp vanilla
1/4 c unpopped popcorn
Combine the oil, sugar, water and vanilla in a skillet. Let it get hot, then add the popcorn and cover.

The kids were fascinated by this. lol

Shake continuously until the corn has popped.

Pour onto wax paper.cool and serve. If you want to save for later, store in a tightly closed container.

I don’t know about the saving for later part. My kids loved this. And the ate the whole batch. You could add nuts to this if you wanted, but it’s yummy without them.

Enjoy!

Our Homeschool Week in Review

January 22, 2011 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

I was sick a few days this week, so school just kind of flowed.  🙂  The 3 of us working on reading the Bible in 90 Days got a little behind, some more than others, but we should all be caught up by Monday. That’s the plan anyway.
My oldest daughter had some old laptops given to her so she gave them to her brother who loves computers. He was able to get one of them working. Here he is with his “new” laptop, wireless mouse, and cell phone. He’s all set. lol  He’s the techie in the family, and has been able to fix most of the old computers given to him.

My daughter has the book Tiny Treats from the American Girl Collection and it has some really cute tiny foods they can make. Abby decided to make a cake out of pop-tarts that was in the book.

She only put sprinkles on half the “cake” so for those that didn’t want them. She used 3 pop-tarts and vanilla frosting layered. She had fun making it, and sharing it!

All in all, we had a good week. We will, however, be glad when the colds stop visiting our house!

Random Fun Stuff

January 21, 2011 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

I don’t take very many quizzes on line. In fact, I block all the quizzes on Facebook. I really don’t have the time.

But when I saw this one come through I knew that I had to take it.. I love Fiddler on the Roof, so I just had to take it. 🙂

I am Golde!

Take the Fiddler on the Roof quiz at ChaiSpace.com

I think it fits me.

“You could die from such a man!”

hahahaha I love Golde.

Here was another fun quiz to take. Albeit long. I took this awhile back. Like a long while back. But, hey, I got a good score! lol

106
As a 1930s wife, I am
Very Superior
Take the test!

So enjoy the quizzes. Let me know your results if you take them. 🙂

The Bible in 90 Days Week 3 Check-in

January 18, 2011 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

Photobucket

Today was Day 15 of the Bible in 90 Days Reading Challenge.

I’m sad to say that I only finished Day 12 today.

Lots of things conspired to keep me from completing each days readings. That’s life, I guess.

I have to say, I will be glad to get out of Numbers. I have a hard time with Leviticus and Numbers. I find them hard to get through. There is a lot of information packed into those 2 books, which contain a lot of repetition. And the names. sigh I’m so not good with pronouncing the names. At least I’m not reading out loud. It takes me considerably longer to try and say the names out loud. It’s pretty funny, I guess, because I never say the names the same way twice. lol

Anyway, I’ve had a hard week, but I plan on catching up by next week. At the next check in, I will be caught up!

If your participating in the challenge, I’d love to hear how your doing!

Visit Mom’s Toolbox to see others check-ins.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 3:16-17 NKJV
