The Unbreakable Boy Movie Review & Giveaways

February 20, 2025 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

I recently watched The Unbreakable Boy. I thoroughly enjoyed. It’s such an awesome movie!

Unbreakable

The Unbreakable Boy

Synopsis:

From Kingdom Story Company, the team behind Jesus Revolution and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, and Lionsgate, the studio behind Wonder, comes The Unbreakable Boy.

When his parents, Scott (Zachary Levi) and Teresa (Meghann Fahy), learn that Austin is both autistic and has brittle bone disease, they initially worry for their son’s future. But with Scott’s growing faith and Austin’s incredible spirit, they become “unbreakable,” finding joy, gratitude, and courage even in the most trying times — an extraordinary true story about a father and son learning together that every day can be the best day of your life!

Watch the Trailer!

The Unbreakable Boy Movie Review

A father, mother, and brother who do everything they can to make sure Austin’s life is amazing. That’s the gist of this movie. But there is more to it than that.

An accidental pregnancy, a genetic disease, alcoholism, faith, and autism all play a part is this story. And this movie is based on a true story!

I loved The Unbreakable Boy! All of the actors in this movie did an excellent job. It held my interest the whole time.

The strength of the parents is shown over and over again. A younger brother that stands up to bullies for his brother. An imaginary friend plays a big part in this movie. And you will be surprised by whose imaginary friend it is!

There are happy parts to this movie, and sad parts, as well. I was moved to tears a couple of times. In both parts, happy, and sad. The drinking of alcohol is seen in a few scenes. However, it is not shown as glamorous, and consequences are shown as well.

The Unbreakable Boy is rated PG for some violence, language, alcohol abuse, and strong thematic material.

The Unbreakable Boy is an awesome, inspiring movie. A story of family bonds, faith, and redemption. Sometimes, as parents, we don’t have the strength to do hard things for ourselves. But we can, and do, find the strength to do hard things for our kids. That’s exactly what the father in this movie did.

When you see The Unbreakable Boy, be sure to stay for the credits to see the family this movie is based on.

The New CSB Jesus Daily Bible Review

January 24, 2025 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

If you have always wanted to read through the Bible, this new CSB Jesus Daily Bible is for you!

Already read through the Bible, maybe several times, like me? This Bible is for you, too! Keep reading to see why!

Jesus Daily Bible Review

With the Bible in a year plan that I have used in the past, I had to check off on the list every day. And keep track of where I was every day. With the Jesus Daily Bible, the days are marked right on the pages of the Bible! This makes it so easy! And with the attached ribbon bookmark no need to search for your place every day.

The new CSB Jesus Daily Bible includes a 52-week, Christ-focused, guided reading plan that you can join at any point during the year. I love that! You can start when you want to start. Some reading plans have readings 7 days a week. Which is great. However, when you are reading through the Bible in a year, each days reading can take approximately 45 minutes in my experience. This Bible has planned readings for 5 days a week. So if you have to skip a day, or are not able to read a whole days reading each day, you have built in makeup days. And let’s face it. Our lives are so busy now, we need those days to catch up.

Each week starts with an overview of what is being read that week. These are a single page describing the reading and a list of each days reading. As well as a bullet point list of where to find Christ in that weeks reading. This Bible will help keep Jesus at the center of each day.

Each chapter also has an overview. These overviews are a single column on the first page of the chapter. There are also helpful articles and infographics throughout.

Read through this Bible in one year and see how every page of God’s Word points to the bigger story of Jesus.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
