The main thing that happened in our homeschool this week was prom!
Our youngest daughter, Abby, 16, was invited to attend prom at our local high school by a guy friend from church.
It wasn’t an automatic yes, they had to work for it. By doing such things as finding a Dad approved dress, and having a responsible adult driver.
Since it appears that I haven’t down a week in review post in months, I guess I should call this update Our Homeschool MONTHS in Review. Most of the time I feel that what we do each week isn’t exciting enough to post about. I only have two left in school, one in high school, and one finishing up 8th grade. They mostly just do book work. I can only post so many pictures of them sitting with books. lol
Now if I was posting about my struggle of getting my 14 year old to stop playing video games and actually do his work, I would have plenty to say. sigh….
There will be a total solar eclipse ton March 20. I’ve witnessed a solar eclipse before, with some of my children. I was looking forward to watching this one with my youngest kids. A solar eclipse is a great chance to learn more about our solar system.
Unfortunately, if you don’t live in the North Atlantic and Arctic Oceans region, you won’t be able to witness it live. Those in Greenland, Iceland, and the United Kingdom have it made, though. lol
Don’t worry, though! The rest of us can watch it live online! Visit Total Solar Eclipse for two websites that will be showing this years total solar eclipse live. You will also find out more about the path of the solar eclipse.

We have always loved to use movies in our homeschool. Oh sure, we watch many movies just for fun. And we love homeschool movie days with our homeschool group. In this instance, however, I’m talking about using movies as part of your homeschool curriculum.
As part of the Schoolhouse Review Crew, I received the books iWitness Biblical Archaeology, New Testament iWitness, and Old Testament iWitness from Apologia Educational Ministries to review
The iWitness series of Christian apologetics books is great for the whole family. The reading level is for ages 11 and up. You can read an interview with Doug Powell ,the author and designer of the iWitness books, on the Apologia website.
