Procrastination

February 17, 2010 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

Oh, yes, I’m one of those.

The one who puts things off until you absolutely can’t put them off anymore.

sigh…..

Why is it, that they thing you had dreaded doing, is never as bad as you thought it was going to be?

I got a couple of things out of the way today.

Now I have to work on our taxes.

sigh……

Too bad Spring is a procrastinator, too!

sigh……….

(no, that is not a current picture, that was last year, when Spring tried not to be a procrastinator)

Happy Birthday to Me

February 6, 2010 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

Today’s my birthday. There is lots of whispering going on. The kids are so funny. They think I can’t hear them. My husband is the worst. Apparently, he thinks I’m deaf. lol

There is an awesome looking chocolate marble cake, with chocolate frosting on the table. I know it’s chocolate marble, because the kids told me so. 🙂

There are 3 guys in the kitchen cooking supper. My husband and two of our sons. Guys cooking are so funny!

But hey, at least I don’t have to cook! I did cook lunch, though. Bean and cheese quesdillas. They are making cheeseburgers and french fries for supper. smells good!

Can’t wait for the cake!

It’s My Purse!

January 12, 2010 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

I recently changed purses to a smaller one. When the 15yo teenage boy saw the new one he said:

“Why did you change to that one? WE can’t fit as much stuff in that one!

WE……..WE….

I do like the smaller one. I like how much lighter it is, it doesn’t hurt my shoulder to carry it.

It just isn’t big enough, though. I often have to carry supplies for my husband who has diabetes. I have to carry snacks for him when we go out, and I often carry his test kit in my purse. Because, you know, I’m carrying it anyway, and if I carry it, he won’t have to take a bag, too.

So I carry his stuff. At least then I know he will have his test kit and snacks if he needs them.

So I will change to a larger purse.

So I absolutely refuse to carry anything for the kids.

If they can’t carry it themselves, do they really need to bring it?

It’s Freezing !!!

January 8, 2010 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

It has been soooo cold here in Kentucky the last couple of weeks. It looks like it’s going to get worse before it gets better. They’re calling for a low of 1 this weekend. one…. one…

I really try hard not to complain about the cold. Really, I do. I have a heat intolerance and it gets really, really hot here in Kentucky during the summer.

So I reserve my weather complaints for summers heat, not winters cold.

I’m just saying…..it’s really cold here…..brrrrrr……..

We have 5 goats that are getting ready to kid sometime soon (we don’t know the date). The poor babies won’t stand a chance in this cold weather. Hopefully, they hold off having them until it’s warmer. They are getting huge, though, so I’m not sure how much longer they will wait.

Well, I’m going to go try to get warm!

New Years Eve

January 1, 2010 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

The kids wanted to stay up tonight. I think I’m getting to old to do this sort of thing!

Since I was up, I decided to try and make some cheese sticks from scratch.

I sliced the cheese into sticks, dipped them in egg and rolled them in bread crumbs. The mozzarella cheese that I had was really soft. The finished cheese sticks were flat.

They tasted good, they just didn’t hold their shape. I will definitely make these again. I will make sure that I use a firmer mozzarella cheese, though.

Now it’s time to get these kids to bed!!

2009 Blog Re-Cap

December 31, 2009 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

Jo-Lynne at Musings of a Housewife is holding a fun blog re-cap carnival. You list the first sentence of the first post of every month of 2009.

Here’s mine:

January

“Wow! Where did 2008 go to?”

About the New Year 2009

February

“The “Cent”sible Sawyer has an updated Walmart Deals list, complete with prices and coupons!”

Doesn’t get much better than coupon shopping!

March

“Before I go buy a newspaper on Sunday, I always check Taylor Town Preview.”

Yep, more coupons!

April

“It’s time for another Bible Memory Verse!”

I did very well with my Bible Memorization, that is until I got sick in August. I think my brain is just now starting to think straight again!

May

“I just LOVE this homeschool version of I Will Survive”

If you haven’t seen this music video of the homeschool version of I Will Survive I HIGHLY recommend it.

June

“nothing….shocking.. I know!”

Is that even a sentence? It’s about what I was hearing while my kids were at day camp.

July

“These are some of my notes from our Wednesday night Bible Study at church:”

Awesome notes from our Bible Study called How to Deal with Difficult People. Very useful!

August

“We started school this past Monday”

A post on our homeschool.

September

Septembers first post was a music video Adonai.

“It just amazes me that food companies can get away with deceptive labeling.”

The first post with an actual sentence was about ridiculous food labels.

October

“If you’ve got melted chocolate all over your hands, you’re eating it too slowly.”

The Rules of Eating Chocolate

November

“I really love this song!”

Have you ever heard the song That’s What I Love about Sundays? I really do love this song! You should go watch the video.

December

“I didn’t take the time to make a menu last week.”

Last weeks non-menu plan and a new menu.

That was fun!

Advent Traditions

December 11, 2009 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

We’ve been celebrating Advent for about 5 or 6 years. I can’t remember the exact year that we started, but I think it’s been 6 years.

I found some Advent devotional books that were highly recommended by lots of people. The books had what color candles to use in the wreath, and what the colors meant.

A couple of years ago, we started decorating a Jesse Tree during Advent.

Crosswalk has a very informative article about Advent customs, traditions, and where they come from.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 3:16-17 NKJV
