Ow, Her Toe!

February 26, 2009 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

Last night, when I looked at Hannah’s sore toe, it was considerably worse than the night before. I mean visibly worse. So I called this morning to see if she should come in today, or wait until her appointment tomorrow morning.

I was told to go ahead and bring her in today. After 2 docs cconsulted, she was given yet another antibiotic, and an appoitment to see a surgeon on Monday.

She is not very happy. The doc had told us at the last visit, that if it didn’t clear up, she would have to have her toenail taken off. Needless to say, she’s not very happy about that at all.

I just want to get this staph infection cleared up, before it spreads. Of course, I don’t want her to have to have any invesive procedures. But this infection needs to be gone!

So, we’re praying for her toe, giving her antibiotics 4 times a day, and waiting to see the surgeon on Monday.

Snow Day

February 23, 2009 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

It snowed last night, and continued today.

See the poor little flowers?

So they cancelled church. 🙁 We really miss going! Our church has a radio ministry. So we turned on the radio and listened. It’s not the same as being there, but it was nice to have it.

The kids lined up chairs, or um… pews… and we sat in the schoolroom and listened. The schoolroom was closer to the radio, which was in C’s bedroom.

It was up loud so we could hear it, and C asked why he can’t have his music that loud. ha ha ha I think not!

Friday, Saturday, Whatever…

February 14, 2009 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

I had to take H back tot he doctor yesterday (Friday). Here toe is sore, red, and swollen, again. Turns out she has a staph infection in h er toe. She’s on TWO antibiotics this time, along with antibiotic cream. The doctor said if this doesn’t work, she’ll have to have the toenail removed. She’s not happy! Where whould she put her toenail polish??

I didn’t sleep good the night before, so after I went back to the pharmacy to pick up H’s meds, I laid down to nap. I didn’t actually go to sleep, mostly just rested. I th ink I did doze off for a couple of minutes at a time, but the kids kept waking me up. I did feel better after I got up, even though I didn’t sleep.

Today, I have to drop H off at church. She’s making cookies with her Sunday School class, then dropping them off at peoples houses. After I drop her off, I’m headed grocery shopping. I need to keep it at $50. this week, so it should be interesting.

Then it’s back home, put away the groceries, (that should take long, lol) theng et ready to go to church. The youth are having a dinner for the adults for Valentines Day. The youth cook, lol should be interesting. lol They do this every year, but this will be the first time we’ve gone. We didn’t go the 2 years before that, that we’ve been going to this church.

Well, I need to go get ready to go shopping. And take tomorrows supper out of the freezer, and take a turkey out to defrost, and stop H & A arguing over who’s wearing who’s red shirt tonight. lol

Tuesday…

February 10, 2009 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

because I can’t think of a title. 🙂

Today has been a sorta relaxed day today. Oh, we got work done, but in a relaxed sort of way. 🙂 We skipped piano today, so I only had to make a pharmacy run for D’s blood pressure medicine. The pharmacy is 2 miles from our house, so no big deal.

Yesterday, we worked at church. Well, not physical labor. We were there available for work if it was needed. but most of the time was spent talking. lol The kids did manage to get some schoolwork done. They also had a blast heating up there lunch in the microwave. We don’t have one, so it was like a new toy to them. lol

We’re going back tomorrow for 4 hours. The first two hours we will probably be the only ones there, so the kids will do their schoolwork on the kitchen table. Sounds like home. 🙂 We are there to help people, so when people stop by we will help them. Yeah, I know I’m being vague about what were doing there. I’m not sure if I should say or not so I’m going to err on the side of caution, and not say. Yesterday was our first day of working/helping. I’m not sure about the schedule after that, but we will go when they need us.

Supper is in the crockpot and smells soooo good! The kids (except for H) are outside working on an old lawnmower (with the blade removed!) that they call the go kart. They love being able to ride stuff around the yard. The temps have been warmer, so they think it’s spring already. H is reading a book, what else would see be doing?

I’ve been working on some paperwork today, and clipping coupons. My printer still won’t work, so no printable coupons for me. I guess I’m going to have to give up and buy a new one.

The kids folded a pile of laundry today. good, right? Except my kids translate “fold the laundry” into “spread the laundry all over the floor”. I KNOW I’m speaking english, I just haven’t figured out what language they’re hearing me in! So if anyone knows what language “fold the laundry” translates into “spread the laundry all over the floor”, let me know! lol

Well, I better get back to work!

In Which I Tell on Myself

January 26, 2009 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

When I came home from church yesterday morning, I took off my dress shoes and put on warm, fuzzy slippers.

When we were leaving for church last night, I got ready, put on my coat, scarf and gloves. With my purse on my arm, I walked across the living room to leave, and realized I still had my slippers on! ROFLOL

Slippers go with everything, don’t they??

Fire!

January 23, 2009 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

It was so nice today! We did the minimum on schoolwork, then ran to the store for hot dogs, buns and s’more fixin’s! We built a fire in the fire pit and ate lunch outside.

We normally can’t have our first meal outside for the year until sometime in February. So we really enjoyed having it early this year.

The kids had a blast and were very happy.

It doesn’t get much better than that. 🙂

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
