Yes, I know that today is actually Saturday. But to me, it’s Friday.

Since we were out most of the day yesterday, errands, etc. I didn’t get to do the weekly cleaning that I usually do on Fridays. So I’m doing it today. Which makes today Friday.

Now that I have the day of the week cleared up…….

I’m almost done with the weeklies, I just have to edge vacuum and clean out the furniture in the living room, and I’m done. Since the kids are watching TBN they won’t take kindly to my running the vacuum. So I’ll have to do that later. I also have 2 loads of laundry on the line, and the quilt that we use to cover the couch is in the washer waiting to be hung.

It has turned out to be a nice day today. Sunny and the wind is blowing, a nice laundry day. 🙂

Since I almost have all my work done, and the kids are occupied, I’m going to go play a game of Upwords with D.

No, wait! Please don’t go away rain! We do need you!
Yep, it’s raining! Has been for most of the day. Thankfully, it doesn’t take very long to take care of the animals. And thankfully, I have this supersized rain coat, that paired with my water boots, keeps me nice and dry!

Yesterday, on the other hand, was warm and sunny. I did 5 loads of laundry, including drying them on the line! There were a few damp waistbands, but on the whole it all dried! Which an amazing feat in January! And tomorrow is supposed to be warm and sunny also! Clothesline here I come!

Why so much laundry, you ask? Well, last week was extremely cold, as in single digit temps! So very little laundry got done. Plus, They were giving away clothes at church on Sunday. And we got a very large pile of clothes. D even found a pair of jeans for work, which he needs very badly. So I am thankful! He also got a pair of bib overalls. hehehehe So now he’s all set for spring farm chores. lol

So just the usual sort of things going on around here. Lots of schoolwork, housework, laundry, animals, etc. etc. etc. I am in the process of moving my scrapbook desk. It’s been so long since I scrapbooked, I can’t even remember how long!, that my desk is piled high with all the stuff I should be scrapbooking. Now, it’s a big project to clean it off and move it. sigh…..

I also have some other things in the works. Like sewing things to sell, and making things to sell. But I’ll wait and share that when there ready to sell. 🙂

Well, I suppose I should get back to work. I need to go bottle the laundry soap that I made yesterday. And my ironing pile is getting taller every second!

I have lots and lots of sewing to do. I’m altering the costumes for the 5th grade and under play at church. Over 30 costumes. The fabric is one of those horrid nylon fabrics that is a bear to work with. But I’m getting through it. I prayed first, so it’s going pretty smoothly. 🙂
There has been so much going on, that I don’t even know what to blog about! lol
Errands galore, shopping, saving LOTS of money, piano recital, LOTS of play pratices, a birthday to get ready for (Saturday), a party to get ready for at church (Sunday), the last piano lesson until the end of January! YEAH!,
the last Bible Drill class until January 6th, except for Sunday’s party, (We will miss Bible Drill!), LOTS of rain and mud, and cleaning out of the creek of leaves and sticks so it will actually flow (yes, by me)(The leaves and sticks get stuck in the goat fence, and dam up the creek) school is on Christmas vacation YEAH!, chickens who stopped laying, and having to pay a small fortune for inferior eggs at the store, 🙁
Ok, well, you get the idea, very busy with lots going on! But for now, I better get back to sewing!

NOT!!!

The sun is shining today. Oh, it’s cold alright, but the sun is shining! It makes me feel better about it being cold. Even the winter sun warms you up while your hanging clothes on the line. Or doing farm chores. I’d rather have sunshine falling from the sky than something wet while doing farm chores in the winter.

I volunteered to alter costumes for the little kids play (preschool thru 5th grade) at church. I measured a LOT of kids last night. I lost count. lol And have 16 more to do. There’s 30 something kids in the play. Thankfully they are all wearing robes! So I only have to hem the bottom and sleeves. 4 others need lengthening on the bottom and sleeves and 2 need fabric added to the side seams. There are actually a few that need NO alterations at all! It won’t be that bad at all. And shouldn’t take to long. I’ll be starting the sewing later today. I’ll have my kids pose for pics, cause their cool, and they’ll do it. lol

I also need to work on Christmas cards. I think we have enough left over from the last couple of years that we won’t have to make any this year. I’ll find out after I actually make a list. lol I need to get the ones for church done by Sunday. Abigail’s Wednesday night class is doing a post office thing to raise money for missions. Give them the cards, and the postage money, and they’ll deliver the cards to the families in church, and donate the money to missions. Sounds like a good deal!

I’ll leave you with one of our favorite Christmas traditions.
Duane and I got this glass at Arby’s when we lived in Florida. BEFORE we had kids. Yeah, the glass is old. lol Other people got enough glasses for people to drink out of for Christmas dinner. But we only got one. We only went to Arby’s once while they were doing the glass promotion. lol So that, 1985, Christmas we used it as a candy dish for M & M’s. And we have contintued that ever since. For 22 years, this glass has had M & M’s in it for Christmas. The past few years I have had a hard time with the kids eating all the candy. lol I no sooner put candy in it, then they clean it out. So it stays emtpy a lot now. But that’s ok. I just picture it full, and I’m happy. It has holly going around the bottom of the glass. See…..isn’t it pretty?
