Happy 11th Birthday Calen!!!!!
*dies to self*
?????
All morning, I haven’t heard anything except – “I’m cold” “I’m freezing” “It’s cold” “It’s freezing” and every concievable variation of those complaints!
So good, kind, loving, dutiful mother that I am. I turn the heat on.
“I smell something!!” “What’s that smell?”
Good, kind, loving, dutiful mother says:
“You’ve been complaining ALL morning, “I’m cold” “I’m freezing” “It’s cold” “It’s freezing”. So I turned the heat on. Do you want the heat on or not???
Kids – “Yes”, “Yes”, “Yes”, “Yes”, “Yes”
Not so good, not so kind, not so loving, Mother says – “Then shut up!”
aaaaahhhhhhhhh No more complaining……For about 2 SECONDS…..until they found something ELSE to complain about!!
Water, Water Everywhere
Yep, that’s a water line being put in on our road!! This is the end of our driveway. We are sooooo happy!!!!! I have no idea how much it will cost us to move our meter from its current position at the end of the road, to by our house, but it will be worth it! New meters are costing the neighbors $400. Plus $50, and $35. One for paperwork the other, I’m not sure. Deposit? I remember when we put our meter in our name, that we had to pay the $50. and $35. So if we already have a city(actually, county) water, why are we so excited about the water line coming down our road? Well, because our meter is at the end of our road, over a half a mile. WE are responsible for the line. And breaks, leaks, etc. have to be fixed by US! Along with the paying for the water that leaked out!! OUCH We had one big leak a couple of years ago, with a water bill of over $300!!! OUCH So the county putting a water line down our road is a good thing. I VERY GOOD THING!!!
Mel’s Wisdom Teeth
Here’s Mel, all wired and ready to be cut and stitched!
She did have trouble during the surgery. Her heart rate spiked, and her blood pressure dropped. The oral surgeon said she may have been allergic to one of the meds used to put her to sleep. They gave her a dose of Benadryl, and she was back to normal. She hasn’t had a rash, though. I’ll have to talk to him about it, when she goes for a re-check next week.
There are no after pics. She made me promise that I wouldn’t take any bad pics of her. LOL She is swollen, and both cheeks are bruised!
Don’t tell her I said this, but she looks like a chipmunk! I’ve even called her Chippy a couple of times! LOL
The Civil War
We went to a Civil War re-enactment. We really enjoy going as a family. Every year we say we’re going to become re-enactors. Maybe next year! D and I had our picture taken. It’s a process called ambrotype. I’m not going to take the time to post any links. Google it, if you want to read about it. The picture is actually on a piece of glass! It’s really cool. Here’s a pic of the photographer, Wendell Decker, posing us. Mel took this pic.
Here we are sitting in a bowl of water. LOL
I’ll try this weekend to get up the rest of the pics we took at the re-enactment. They’ll be over at Perry Christian School.
