TOO FUNNY!!!!!
Casting Crowns!!
Melissa and I went to a Casting Crowns concert tonight. Melissa bought her own ticket, but since she needed a chaperone, I had to buy one also. She assured me that I knew some of their songs and indeed liked them. lol Turns out she was right! But don’t tell her that! lol We met G~ and her family there. They got there before we did, so they saved us seats. And great seats they were! We had to stand outside in long, long line for a long time! G called me on my cell, lol, and said her son, would meet us just inside the door, as they weren’t seating anyone in their section anymore. But first we had to stop at the restroom, of course! lol Poor C stood out in the hall for about 30 minutes while we waited in a long, long line for the ladies room! Another lady and I were seriously thinking about storming the mens room! But we didn’t get enought supporters. LOL Mel said she’d do it, but no signs of action from her! lol The concert was awesome! But too many speakers before the music actually started! 🙁 G and her family had saved us seats on the floor in the 5th row! (Mel said it was the 5th row, anyway. lol) We got some great pics! Then we stood in line to get a bottle of water, $2. each, and stood in another LONG line for the ladies room again during intermission! Back for more great songs! Including some that will be on the new CD coming out later this year, that they had never sung in concert before! I really, really liked one of them, about a little kid dying from cancer. It was all I could do to keep from crying! I plan on buying the new CD as soon as it comes out. Then we stood in a long, long line for autographs I almost got a pic of Mel shaking hands with one of the singers, but someone walked in front of the camera! bummer We had a GREAT time, and didn’t get home until 12:30 am!!!

TIME
What is time?
Cook out!!!
We were invited to a cook out at G~’s. We had a GREAT time! Calen, Hannah, Abigail and Zachary bobbed for apples for the first time. The loved it! lol Mel didn’t try. lol They also played charades for the first time. Mel didn’t try that either! lol They fished, even though the fish only a couple of fish were caught. It was sooooo peaceful sitting around the fire by the pond. Hard to believe it’s so close to town! We had a GREAT time! Thanks G~!!!

Gardening
We’ve spent all week putting in our gardens. And there are a LOT!!
The Chicken Garden
So named because it’s next to the chickens. LOL On Monday, the 23rd, we put out the seedlings that we had started in the house. Roma Tomatoes, Bell Peppers and Broccoli. On the Wednesday, the 25th, we put in potatoes.
The Garden of Mystery
The kids named it that. No reason, they just liked the name. LOL On Wednesday, the 25th, we planted Sweet Corn,3 different kinds of carrots, green onions, radishes, peanuts, pumpkins, watermelon, and cantaloupe. With some room left for succession planting.
The Front Garden
The kids named it that, because it’s in front of the Garden of Mystery. They’re separated by the creek. On Thursday the 26th, We planted pea pods, green beans, cold set tomatoes, summer squash, zucchini and cucumbers. With some room left for succession planting.
The Corn Maze
Thursday, the 26th, we laid out the maze in the upper garden. We are going to plant feed corn for the goats. The kids read about a corn maze in a Box Car Children book, and wanted to make one, so we are! We have it all laid out. That took a couple of hours! We ran out of time to actually plant the corn. lol Hopefully, we’ll get to plant it Saturday night or Sunday.
The Bible Garden
A Bible Garden, is a garden with plants that are either mentioned in the Bible, or plants that grew in Bible lands during Bible times. I’ll put a link to a book HERE later, but now I have to go fix the goat fence that the dog broke. GRRRRRRRRR!!!!!
Are we there yet?!
Last Thursday night, we left to go to Ohio! Sort of a mini vacation. We got to D’s brothers house at 9:15 p.m. yawn We had a good trip, except we ran into a MASSIVE storm. Turns out there was also a tornado warning with it. Glad I didn’t know that at the time! lol

Friday
We went to Kings Island. It was homeschool day, so the tickets were a LOT cheaper. My mother gave our family money for Christmas, and everyone voted to go to KI. The kids waited a long time for their Christmas present! We were through the gates, and waiting in the park for them to lower the rope when the park opened at 10. We left at 7. That’s NINE hours! Melissa stayed at the park with Stephanie and Kristen, who joined us when they got out of school. They stayed at the park until it closed at 11! I was SOOOO tired and sore when we left the park! I didn’t think I was going to make it back to the van! lol

We had fun, but only stayed about 2 hours or so. D and I were SORE from all the walking and rides at KI. lol We had a cookout at for supper with sil’s family. We had fun, and the kids had a BLAST playing!
Sunday
We slept late. yawn. Then just hung around. The teenage girls didn’t get up until 11. LOL We had a late lunch of pizza, then left around 3:15. It was a great mini vacation, although very tiring! Kids are already talking about going again next year. lol But I don’t know!
